Missed 2FA won't let me use command line...?

Not an engineer so be gentle:

• My developer AppleID is an iCloud account.
• My account is invited as a member to my managed work "entity" and "team ID".
• I can login fine to my iCloud account on my devices, on icloud.com, and on developer.apple.com with my username and password.
• When I log in to these places, it requires a 2FA code.
• Nothing is pending or unconfigured as far as I can tell on developer.apple.com.
• When I try to use xcodes via command line, I am prompted to enter my username and password.
• I am NOT prompted to enter a 2FA code.
• I get this error:

Invalid username and password combination. Attempted to sign in with username [username]@icloud.com.
Try entering your password again
Apple ID Password ([username]@icloud.com):

This essentially blocks me from using this tool as far as I can tell
