Feature Request - TAB key inserts spaces

Can you expand on the feature that lets you change the TAB key behavior to also allow inserting a configurable number of spaces instead of tabs?

Thanks for the suggestion! I can see why this would be useful, especially for people who prefer spaces over tabs or need to follow a specific style guide (I understand the eternal tabs vs spaces war, I'm more of a tab person, sorry ☺️).

For now, I don't plan to add a configurable Tab key setting to the editor. I'm trying to keep the editing experience and settings as simple as possible, and maybe that's somethng too niche?

A better fit for this kind of customization would be a plugin. Since plugins can modify note content on save, a plugin could automatically convert tabs to a configurable number of spaces before the file is written. That keeps the core editor simple while still allowing users with specific workflows to customize the behavior.

I'll keep the idea in mind if more people propose it, but I think the plugin approach is the direction I'd prefer for this kind of feature.
