Mixed teams

Hi,

we face at the moment the challenge, that we've mixed teams OS wise. At least one colleague is using Windows 11 whilst the others run on linux/mac os.

We thought about setting up WSL on the Windows machine, but where asking ourself how do deal with this in general.

For mixed teams I would recommend to use the Powershell variant for all team members. It does require installing Powershell for the non-Windows users. WSL is certainly an other option. Let me know what you settled on.

WSL actually works well (at least for us ;) ). But we test out the Powershell usage and report back :)

Some follow up question, as some of our colleagues where wondering about it:

• What's the reason that shell scripts where used in favor of python scripts?
• We saw the git extension does support in the same agent script both powershell and bash, and where wondering why this approach isn't used as well for the base line agents of spec-kit.

I honestly cannot tell you as I was not the original author. We are exploring a pivot to Python altogether as the user would already have to have Python installed to use the CLI anyway, but we have not decided yet
