From 464c6091a22692a046d05c38ef714f43291e7f65 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: marinafolio <259611214+marinafolio@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Wed, 21 Oct 2026 08:03:07 -0600 Subject: [PATCH] docs: fix Linux symbolic link command Correct the ln command in the Linux standalone binary installation instructions. The documented command uses an unsupported -l option, causing it to fail on GNU/Linux. Removing -l allows the https symbolic link to be created successfully. Verified on Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS with GNU coreutils 8.32. --- docs/README.md | 2 +- 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/docs/README.md b/docs/README.md index 51dff51aec..1f1fa17c08 100644 --- a/docs/README.md +++ b/docs/README.md @@ -177,7 +177,7 @@ Get the standalone HTTPie Linux executables when you don't want to go through th ```bash # Install httpie $ https --download packages.httpie.io/binaries/linux/http-latest -o http -$ ln -ls ./http ./https +$ ln -s ./http ./https $ chmod +x ./http ./https ```
