As someone who needed to implement a simple JSON-POST logging handler, I've come across this package, but ended up monkey-patching the not-terribly-friendly HTTPHandler instead. Since JSON logging generally makes sense when a-sort-of streaming to some collection system -- and since I myself is pretty far from active involvement in Python community, maybe someone here will find this useful: https://gist.github.com/costa/a72e53854fc93e14874452adbc6ea9c3

It might be worth us putting together some documentation on how to integrate this formatter with common handlers used for getting logs into common systems (e.g. ELK, OpenObserve) which may or may not use common handlers (e.g SyslogHandler)
