The selected #626 backward JP8 cleanup repeatedly multiplies different sources by the same coefficient before adding them to one target. This finite circuit result collects those sources in one existing private stream and uses reverse Horner once per run. It saves 19,688 real-component primitives, reducing the complete backward count from 257,280 to 237,592. Status: research construction / finite circuit improvement; no new kappa.

The exhaustive domain contains 999 maximal runs / 3,022 additions, all in the full-frame cleanup. Every source read, signed accumulation, halving, doubling and both scratch clears is charged. All live boundary maps and private clearing agree exactly. The complete backward prefix envelope remains unchanged at 101 bits, within the inherited 192-bit allowance. Forward JP8 stays at 257,232 primitives.

Only research/complex-jp8-fanin/ is added. It contains the executable circuit, proof, exact aggregate certificate and batch digest, source pins, independent checker, local sprint claim and validation record. The private-work interface clears at each new batch boundary instead of after each replaced scalar macro. No additional helper or paid frame/child event is introduced.

Reproduce

python3 -I -B research/complex-jp8-fanin/verify.py
python3 -I -B research/complex-jp8-fanin/check_columns.py

Expected:

PASS_JP8_REVERSE_HORNER_FANIN batches=999 additions=3022 real_saved=19688 columns=716 controls=12
PASS_JP8_FANIN_COLUMNS blocks=999 local_columns=5020 real_saved=19688 omitted_clear_rejections=999

Python 3.11+, standard library, offline, no writes. Main replay checks all 716 live inputs plus eight arbitrary centre inputs and one arbitrary coefficient-work input, costs, prefix envelopes, the paid profile and committed receipt. Twelve controls exercise wrong signs, omitted source/target operations, clearing, halves/doubles, aliases, frame mismatch, invalid coefficients, cost inflation and endpoint-neutral prefix growth. The separate grouping and flat-vector column implementation checks 5,020 local inputs and rejects a missing final clear in every block.

Validation passes on macOS arm64 with CPython 3.14.8 and 3.11.15, including isolated optimized execution. Gzip recompression passes; source and certificate corruption are rejected. make selected-record-check, Python syntax, local documentation links and staged whitespace checks pass. Two separately delegated Codex workers checked this narrow construction; no independent human review is claimed.

Provenance, related work and scope

The selected certificate, existing supplier sources, global accounting and upstream/ are unchanged. Full make verify, cold supplier regeneration, native phase/wrapper replay, global admission/assembly, Linux CI and Lean were not run. Production-emitter integration and any supplier promotion remain separate work. All inherited compiler, realization, hosting, precision/tape/recovery, bit-supplier and analytic assumptions remain. This finite scalar result does not formalize the multiplication theorem or claim a practical runtime speedup.

100-PR batch review at 7a1a3a319da359ec8b6e83230a7fcf7733fac8e5.

Merged to main, preserving the original contributor commits and package attribution.

Reviewed scope: JP8 cleanup fan-in/reverse-Horner lowering: 19,688 backward primitives saved; full local map, private scratch and recursive events checked.

The pinned scoped command passed; the batch ledger contains its command, input hashes, environment and log. This incorporates the research/tooling contribution and does not change the selected κ or discharge the inherited multiplication-theorem assumptions.

Batch review, attribution and evidence. Thank you for the contribution.
