`index_repository` or `status` call for that project carries a `notice` suggesting the async
mode. `index_status` keeps describing the published graph and its freshness.

### Code referenced by changed documentation

Use `detect_changes` with `scope: "doc_references"` to find indexed targets a
changed documentation section names. This is a separate review-candidate query;
its references never become behavioral blast-radius seeds. `base_branch` and
`since` select the comparison base as usual.

The query considers `.md`, `.markdown`, `.rst`, `.adoc`, `.asciidoc` paths and
files with indexed Section nodes. Prose belongs to the nearest preceding indexed
heading, until the next heading. Text before the first heading belongs to the
document's File node. A deletion before the first surviving line is anchored at
that line for review. The query
follows one outbound `MENTIONS` hop from selected sections, returning resolved
implementation targets alongside reason-coded unresolved references. Resolved
references to recognized documentation paths and Section targets are omitted;
unresolved references retain raw text and reasons because their target types
are not established. Sources whose indexed bytes are stale or
unavailable return an `unavailable` row. When no supported line hunks exist, the mapping is
explicitly marked `whole_file_without_hunks` rather than claiming section-level
precision. The query fixes Git's prefixes and uses raw, uncolored diffs. Quoted
Git paths and paths beyond the shared parser's path bound use the whole-file
fallback; their hunks cannot select another file's sections.

Results identify `store_generation` and `coverage: "indexed_references_only"`.
They describe the current index's references, not historical references removed
by a document deletion or a complete inventory of semantic dependencies. Deleted
or unindexed documents with one of those extensions remain visible as unavailable. Parser coverage and
reference-attribution limitations still apply.

`limit` bounds each page. Pass `next_cursor` back as `reference_cursor` to
continue; the cursor refuses a changed question, graph publication, changed
file contents or an offset outside the materialized results. `max_output_tokens` bounds output, and `truncated`/
`total_relation` expose partial results. Behavioral traversal and seed options
are rejected for this scope. Existing scopes retain their output and traversal.
