IHE Devices Domain information and formal documentation, including published technical framework and profile supplements.
- convert the v11 drafts to AsciiDoc? (I'm pretty sure the current adoc files were converted from vol. 10. Need to check.)
- craft whatever README information is needed here and for various subdirectories / repos
- create template repo for whitepapers that can be used to create new whitepaper repos. Add documentation here about how to use them template repos.
- review notes at bottom of this file
The current versions of IHE Devices Domain (DEV) technical framework (TF) document volumes and supplements may be found on the main IHE Devices domain page.
Archived versions of these publications may be found here.
IHE Devices Domain (DEV) technical framework (TF) supplement work products that are either in development, in Public Comment or Trial Implementation and may be published on the IHE Technical Frameworks web page.
- Supplement revisions should also be supported until the trial implementation (TI) versions have been converted to final text (FT) and integrated into the IHE DEV TF.
- Supplement-specific GitHub repositories contain the development artifacts for each supplement. These repositories should be frozen when the supplement content is incorporated into the TSs. CPs for the supplements should also be migrated into this repository when the supplement content is incorporated into the TFs.

If you need assistance with an aspect of using GitHub for this repository, please contact an admin for assistance. Admins can help with inviting new collaborators to contribute content or review content.
As of August 6, 2025 the admins for this repository are:
- Todd Cooper
- Javier Espina
- David Gregorczyk
- John Rhoads
- Michael Faughn
- Kurt Elliason
- Tom Kowalczyk
Note that this is not the list of admins for any of the other repositories that are related to IHE/DEV, such as the DEV.SDPi or DEV.PCIM repositories.
The admins for the root IHE GitHub organization are able to create new repositories and generally accomplish tasks that the admins of individual repositories may not be able to do. Those individuals are (as of Aug 7, 2025):
- Aaron Goldmuntz
- Mary Jungers
- Chris Carr
- Michael Faughn (temporary)
Do we need documentation about:
- how and when to create a branch
- how to commit to a branch
- how and when to create a PR
- how a PR is reviewed / accepted
- how and when new repos are created
- who the IHE root namespace admins are
Do we need protections on the master branch? (probably yes, but is this an option for a free tier org?)
