refactor(logging): clarify startup and bound runtime diagnostics - #1638
Added configurable text or JSON logging, with controls for log levels, request sampling, HTTP access logs, and statistics intervals.
Added request IDs to HTTP logs and responses, plus periodic engine-throughput and queue statistics.
Added service readiness monitoring, including support for HTTPS with client certificates.
Added Chinese and English guides covering logging configuration and behavior.
Improvements
Reduced routine log noise and added structured summaries for requests, transfers, and startup events.
Avoided logging raw invalid streaming payloads and bounded diagnostic details.
Improved error messages when explicitly selected attention or KV-transfer backends are unavailable; automatic attention selection reports fallback to Triton.
This PR adds structured logging configuration, request correlation, readiness monitoring, engine throughput statistics, aggregated KV-transfer diagnostics, and English and Chinese logging tutorials. It also updates runtime log levels, backend error handling, progress output, and related tests.
Changes: Logging and runtime observability
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Logging configuration and documentation lightllm/utils/log_utils.py, lightllm/server/api_cli.py, lightllm/server/core/objs/start_args_type.py, docs/EN/source/tutorial/logging.rst, docs/CN/source/tutorial/logging.rst, unit_tests/utils/*
Logging now supports text and JSON formats, configurable levels, request sampling, access logging, process context, rotating files, bounded debug events, statistics helpers, and startup configuration logging.
HTTP logging and readiness lightllm/server/api_http.py, lightllm/server/api_start.py, lightllm/utils/start_utils.py, lightllm/server/httpserver_for_pd_master/multiprocess.py, unit_tests/server/test_logging.py, unit_tests/utils/test_start_utils.py
HTTP requests receive validated request IDs and access records. Startup paths configure HTTP logging and monitor HTTP or HTTPS readiness, including client-certificate settings.
Request and P/D lifecycle logging lightllm/server/httpserver/*, lightllm/server/httpserver_for_pd_master/*, lightllm/server/router/*, unit_tests/server/httpserver/*
Request events and terminal summaries use structured fields. Request IDs propagate to P and D nodes. Stop-matched requests are represented as FINISHED_STOP.
Shared counters record prefill and output tokens by data-parallel rank. Router statistics report window rates and qualifying completions after readiness.
KV-transfer and runtime diagnostics lightllm/server/router/model_infer/mode_backend/pd/*, lightllm/common/*, lightllm/distributed/*, lightllm/utils/*, unit_tests/server/test_logging_regressions.py
Transfer paths aggregate diagnostics and use contextual logging. Runtime components use structured or leader-aware logs, lower routine diagnostics to DEBUG, and gate progress output. Neo FA3 now reports an explicit ImportError when explicitly required.

Stop Hypercorn from logging the readiness probe.
The config server defines /readiness, so the claimed 404 and missing service.ready event do not occur. The monitor still probes that endpoint every 0.5 seconds after readiness until the stop event is set or the process exits. When LIGHTLLM_LOG_HTTP_ACCESS=1, Hypercorn logs each probe. The /readiness exclusion applies only to log_http_access, not to Hypercorn access logs.
Filter /readiness from Hypercorn access logging, or increase the interval after the service becomes ready.

Group connection failures by master.
If two PD masters fail with the same exception reason, log_repeated_exception groups both calls under one key. The helper does not include master in that key. Within the suppression window, the log names only the first master, so operators cannot identify every affected master. Add the master address to the aggregation key while keeping the event name stable. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Validate the readiness TLS client identity before you start the monitor thread.
context.load_cert_chain(...) runs inside the daemon thread. An invalid LIGHTLLM_READINESS_CLIENT_CERT or LIGHTLLM_READINESS_CLIENT_KEY path raises FileNotFoundError or ssl.SSLError. An unreadable or encrypted key has the same effect. The exception ends the thread. Python's thread excepthook prints only a raw traceback.
The consequences:
service_ready stays 0 permanently.
service.ready is never logged.
Consumers that gate on the ready flag stay inactive. One example is the router stats in this PR.
No structured error identifies the cause.
Build the SSL context in start_readiness_monitor, before threading.Thread(...).start(). A configuration error then fails at startup with a clear message, or logs one service.probe_failed warning.

Use log_info_on_leader for the DeepseekV4 selection message.
select_mem_manager_class() runs during each TP rank's model initialization. The direct logger.info call therefore emits this shared configuration at INFO on every rank. The logging contract requires shared model configuration to use INFO on the TP leader and DEBUG on peers.

Review comment at @lightllm/common/kv_cache_mem_manager/mem_utils.py at line 29:
Update select_mem_manager_class() to use log_info_on_leader for the default KV
cache selection message, keeping shared configuration at INFO on the TP leader
and DEBUG on peer ranks.
Avoid patching time.monotonic globally in these tests.
log_utils.time and module.time are the standard time module. monkeypatch.setattr(..., "monotonic", ...) therefore replaces time.monotonic for the whole process until the test ends.
At Line 32, the lambda calls next(ticks) on a two-item iterator. A third caller raises StopIteration.
At Line 368, the lambda always returns 0. asyncio.run uses time.monotonic for loop.time(), so scheduled timers can never expire.
The tests pass today only because no other caller reads the clock. A later change that adds a timer, a thread wait, or a plugin that reads the clock can make them fail in confusing ways.
Replace the module reference with a local stub, as Line 74 already does:
For log_utils, replace log_utils.time the same way. Keep any other time attributes that the code under test uses.
