The fleet's managed files, which this repository has not received yet. All of it is written in conf and distributed by ordnung fleet sync — a local edit here is drift the next sync reports.

  • .githooks/ — commit-msg gates Conventional Commits on the subject; pre-commit runs Straitjacket over the tree through run-straitjacket, which fails when Straitjacket is absent rather than passing quietly, because a hook that skips its only check wherever the tool is missing reports "clean" most loudly where it looked least. They arrive executable: Git silently declines to run a hook without its mode, and a hook that never runs is indistinguishable from one that passes.
  • .vale.ini — prose style, on proselint and write-good rather than a house style guide. It has already earned its place elsewhere in the fleet: it caught frontmatter that had been invalid YAML for months, which the site generator's regex parser never noticed.
  • .stylelintrc.json — where the repository carries stylesheets.
  • .github/workflows/fleet-lint.yml — the current version, in which stylelint can resolve its own shared configuration. Earlier copies failed on that rather than on any CSS.

Clears the git-hooks and vale findings here, and stylelint where it applies.

One thing to expect after merging: the pre-commit hook only runs once a checkout is pointed at it, which scripts/dev.sh does. Anyone who has already cloned runs git config core.hooksPath .githooks themselves, or nothing changes for them.

Written by conf and distributed by ordnung fleet sync, not edited here:
the committed Git hooks, the prose and stylesheet configuration, and the
current lint workflow. A local change to any of them is drift the next
sync reports.

The hooks arrive executable, which they have to: Git silently declines
to run a hook without its mode, and a hook that never runs looks exactly
like one that passes.
