Why

Claude Code registers a skill as a slash command only when its frontmatter name matches its folder. Two skills used display names, so /odd-mode and /make-bot-ui did not register. A CI check now stops the drift from coming back.

What changed

  • odd-mode: name: Odium Mode → name: odd-mode. make-bot-ui: name: Make Bot UI → name: make-bot-ui.
  • scripts/check-skill-names.mjs reads every tracked SKILL.md and fails when its name differs from its folder.
  • The Skill names workflow runs that script on every PR and on pushes to main.

Scope

Covers the two mismatched skills and the check. Docs already invoke both skills by their kebab-case names, so no references change.

Blast Radius

This is the repo's first workflow, so every PR now gets one check. The check has no dependencies and finishes in about 5 seconds.

Verification

  • node scripts/check-skill-names.mjs passes on all 54 skills, and exits 1 when bro is renamed Bro.
  • On this PR, a planted name: Bro commit failed the skill-names check with name "Bro" does not match folder "bro". The plant is dropped, and the check passes on the head.

Claude Code registers a skill as a slash command only when its frontmatter name is the kebab-case folder name. odd-mode and make-bot-ui used display names instead.
