Fourth security batch: redirects, private messages and a first CSRF sweep.
Changes
Redirects
New Xoops\Core\RedirectUrl (same-site rules ported from XoopsCore27's xoops_isLocalUrl() / xoops_validateLocalRedirect() / xoops_postLoginRedirectUrl()).
Xoops::redirect() checks the target before the core.include.functions.redirectheader event. With redirect_message_ajax on, the System preload sent the Location header and exited before any check ran. The old check compared a host prefix, so https://site.test.evil.test/, //evil.test/ and /\evil.test/ all passed. The new check compares scheme, host and port. javascript:history.go(-n) and bare relative paths still work.
Login (checklogin.php): xoops_redirect=@evil.test became https://site.test@evil.test. The target now goes through RedirectUrl::afterLogin() (base-path prefixing for subdirectory installs is kept; registration pages and anything off-site go to index.php).
user.php, profile user.php and index.php (already logged in): //evil.test passed the :// check. They now use RedirectUrl::validate().
HTTP_REFERER redirects (comments, group permissions) and notifications/update.php are covered by the central check.
Private messages
PmMessageHandler::setTodelete() tested from_userid == 0 instead of != 0. When a recipient deleted a message from a registered user, the row was removed, including the sender's outbox copy.
Inbox/outbox "save" moved any message id given, including other users' messages. It now requires the caller to be the recipient (inbox) or sender (outbox). Missing ids are skipped instead of causing a fatal error.
Reading a message from the save box and deleting it reported an error every time (undefined $res1/$res2).
A message sent to yourself: setTodelete()/setFromDelete() now update the object as well as the row, so deleting both sides removes the row instead of leaving an invisible one. Bulk delete handles the side that matches the folder (inbox: recipient, outbox: sender, save box: both).
Admin prune requires POST and a token. A leftover Debug::log() that read an undefined variable is removed.
CSRF
Plugins admin: saving order/status requires POST and a token. The unused op=status GET branch is removed.
Profile field visibility: adding needs a token. Deleting goes through a confirmation with a token instead of a GET link.
Publisher: the five delete confirmations (category, item, file in admin and front end, submit) check the token the confirmation form already carried. Category, item and file forms carry a token, and their saves check it without consuming it, because a save error sends the user back to the same form (history.go(-1)) to fix and resubmit. The article form's token lasts one hour instead of five minutes.
Publisher mimetypes: every POST, delete and admin/user toggle needs a token (the links carry XOOPS_TOKEN_REQUEST). Bulk-delete ids are cast to integers before they go into the IN (...) list.
Behaviour changes
Redirects to another host, a scheme-relative URL or a backslash form now go to the site root unless the caller passes $allowExternalLink.
Old bookmarks of publisher mimetype delete/toggle links and profile visibility delete links no longer act; the page reloads with fresh links.
Tests
tests/unit/xoopsLib/Xoops/Core/RedirectUrlTest.php: 43 cases (look-alike host, userinfo, scheme-relative, backslash, TAB, DEL, encoded slash, other port/scheme, javascript:/entity forms, history.go, subdirectory base path, .. segments, registration pages with entity/double encoding).
Full suite: 3566 tests, no failures.
Manual checks
Log in from a module page: you land back on that page (also in a subdirectory install)
user.php?xoops_redirect=//example.com while logged in goes to your profile, not off-site
Turn on "redirect_message_ajax" and repeat the two checks above
PM: the recipient deletes a message, and the sender still sees it in their outbox
PM: save and unsave from inbox, outbox and save box; delete from the save box shows success
Plugins admin: change order and status and save
Profile > Permissions > Visibility: add a rule, delete a rule (confirmation shown)
Publisher: create/edit/delete a category, an article (admin and front-end submit) and a file

Redirect URL handling
Layer / File(s)
Summary
URL sanitization and locality checks xoops_lib/Xoops/Core/RedirectUrl.php, xoops_lib/Xoops.php, tests/unit/xoopsLib/Xoops/Core/RedirectUrlTest.php
RedirectUrl adds URL sanitization and locality checks. Xoops::redirect() delegates sanitization to the class. Unit tests cover sanitization and locality.
Redirect validation and post-login destinations xoops_lib/Xoops/Core/RedirectUrl.php, tests/unit/xoopsLib/Xoops/Core/RedirectUrlTest.php
RedirectUrl validates local redirect targets and selects post-login destinations. Unit tests cover base-path boundaries, unsafe paths, and fallback destinations.
Login and profile redirect callers htdocs/include/checklogin.php, htdocs/modules/profile/index.php, htdocs/modules/profile/user.php, htdocs/user.php
Login and profile flows now use RedirectUrl. The profile index requires user.php directly.
Security-token checks for state changes
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Plugin, PM, and profile administration checks htdocs/modules/plugins/admin/plugins.php, htdocs/modules/pm/admin/prune.php, htdocs/modules/profile/admin/visibility.php
Plugin updates and PM pruning require POST requests and security checks. Profile visibility creation and deletion use token checks, integer inputs, and deletion confirmation.
Publisher administration actions and forms htdocs/modules/publisher/admin/category.php, htdocs/modules/publisher/admin/file.php, htdocs/modules/publisher/admin/item.php, htdocs/modules/publisher/admin/mimetypes.php, htdocs/modules/publisher/src/Form/CategoryForm.php, htdocs/modules/publisher/src/Form/ItemForm.php, htdocs/modules/publisher/src/Form/FileForm.php
Publisher administration actions check security tokens. Forms and action links include tokens, and MIME IDs are converted to integers for bulk deletion.
Publisher submissions and file changes htdocs/modules/publisher/file.php, htdocs/modules/publisher/submit.php
Publisher file and item operations check security tokens before selected updates and deletions.
Private-message lifecycle
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Message deletion state and folder ownership htdocs/modules/pm/class/message.php, tests/unit/class/PmMessageHandlerTest.php
Message handlers update deletion state and add deleteFromFolder() to select message sides by user and folder. Unit tests cover ownership and persisted outcomes.
Private-message delete and move operations htdocs/modules/pm/readpmsg.php, htdocs/modules/pm/viewpmsg.php
Message actions use deleteFromFolder(), normalize submitted IDs, skip unresolved messages, and check participant ownership when moving messages.

Centralize redirect-target validation and harden login and authenticated-user redirects against off-site, scheme-relative, malformed, and script-based targets.
Add same-site URL parsing with scheme, host, effective-port, base-path, encoding, and browser backslash checks.
Sanitize all Xoops::redirect() targets before redirect events, including AJAX redirect handling, while preserving approved history.go() behavior.
Route login and profile/user redirects through dedicated validation and post-login URL construction helpers.
Add extensive redirect edge-case coverage, including look-alike hosts, userinfo, encoded traversal, subdirectory installs, and registration targets.
Correct private-message deletion and save-box authorization/state handling so users can modify only their own message sides and self-sent messages are removed consistently.
Fix recipient deletion ownership logic and synchronize deletion flags on message objects before subsequent operations.
Restrict inbox/outbox save and bulk-delete actions to the corresponding recipient or sender, skipping missing message IDs safely.
Handle self-messages and save-box deletion results without undefined variables or false errors.
Require POST and CSRF validation for PM pruning and remove stale debug logging.

🟡 Changes recommended
A critical mismatch between decoded URL validation and the returned raw URL permits external redirects, and deleting saved self-messages can incorrectly report an error.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Fixed in f40a633: deletes now go through PmMessageHandler::deleteFromFolder(), which skips any side whose _delete flag is already set, so the sender-side update never runs on a removed row. Covered by the 'saved, sender side deleted' case in PmMessageHandlerTest.

The self-message unsave path clears only the recipient-side flag, leaving the sender-side flag set and the message incorrectly retained in the save box.
Self-message unsave leaves the sender save flag set
htdocs/modules/pm/viewpmsg.php:86
When a user sends a message to themselves and has saved both sides, the save-box row has both to_save and from_save set. This branch clears only to_save because of the else, leaving from_save=1, so the message remains in the save box after the user unsaves it. Handle the recipient and sender sides independently, as the single-message path does.

Do not count skipped messages against the save limit.
If one save slot remains and the first selected message was deleted after the page loaded, this continue uses the loop’s only permitted iteration. The next valid message is not saved. Iterate over the selected IDs and decrement the remaining capacity only after a successful save. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

When a self-message already counted in getSavecount() moves its other side, $done can be true but $saved remains unchanged because $counted is true. The same value is passed to _PM_SAVED_PART.
