Purpose

Python primary-key reads that merge overlapping files can drop strings containing newlines: LIKE 'a_c' rejects a\nc while the Arrow read path accepts it. Make _ match one character including line terminators, consistent with Java (#9358). Regression coverage checks reads before and after overlapping commits, CRLF width, and escaped underscores.
