Summary

mix hex.audit flags:

  • plug_crypto 2.2.0: EEF-CVE-2026-105963 (MEDIUM, GHSA-ffw9-w85g-f2vh). The secret key base can show up in stack-trace arguments when Plug.Crypto functions get wrong-typed arguments. Updated to the fixed 2.2.1.
  • cowlib 2.21.0: EEF-CVE-2026-43966. Still no upstream fix (2.21.0 is the latest release) and already allow-listed in the CI hex-audit job, so it is left alone.

Also in the lock:

  • elixir_make 0.10.0 → 0.10.1. With Hex 2.6.0, mix deps.get rewrites the lock to 0.10.1 even on unchanged main, so deps.get --check-locked fails without this bump.

The lock changes stay within the existing requirements, and mix.exs is unchanged. This is the first PR in a stack. The remaining minor/patch updates follow in a PR based on this branch.

Verification (host, mirroring ci.yml; local toolchain OTP 29.1.2 / Elixir 1.20.4 / Hex 2.6.0)

  • deps.get --check-locked passes for host, rpi3, rpi0, bbb, mangopi_mq_pro, qemu_aarch64 and x86_64.
  • These pass: deps.unlock --check-unused, compile --warnings-as-errors, format --check-formatted, credo --strict, and sobelow with the CI flags.
  • hex.audit reports only the allow-listed cowlib EEF-CVE-2026-43966.
  • dialyzer passes: 7 errors, all skipped by .dialyzer_ignore.exs.
  • argus plus scripts/argus_baseline.exs (--self-test and the baseline check) pass.
  • mix test --warnings-as-errors: 1676/1679. Two failures come from the sandbox, as on earlier PRs. IdentifyTest "failed trigger restore" fails because the sandbox runs as root, and SSHAccessTest keygen fails because the sandbox had no ssh-keygen. One more test failed once and passed on --failed, so it looks flaky.
  • Not run: firmware builds, which need cross toolchains and hardware.

plug_crypto 2.2.0 can expose the secret key base in stack-trace
arguments when Plug.Crypto functions get wrong-typed arguments
(EEF-CVE-2026-105963). 2.2.1 fixes it.

elixir_make 0.10.0 -> 0.10.1 comes along: with Hex 2.6.0, `mix deps.get`
rewrites the lock to 0.10.1, so `deps.get --check-locked` fails without it.
