Couchbase

Couchbase is The Operational Data Platform for AI™. Build with JSON documents, key-value access, SQL++ queries, full-text search, vector search, eventing, mobile sync, and analytics in one platform. Run it fully managed with Capella, self-managed, or embedded at the edge.

Build with Couchbase

  • Low-latency apps at scale
  • AI agents and RAG apps with operational data, vectors, and persistent memory
  • Offline-first mobile and edge apps
  • Full-text and vector search
  • Real-time analytics

AI Data Plane

Couchbase AI Data Plane is a governed data layer for production AI agents, including Agent Memory, MCP Server, and Agent Catalog.

Right now, teams are building that layer themselves out of five separate services. Couchbase AI Data Plane is built to be that layer: a single, governed data foundation that lets you stop stitching scattered agent infrastructure together and move from pilot to production faster.

Couchbase Mobile

Couchbase Lite runs on-device, giving your app a local database with SQL++ queries, full-text search, and vector search — so it keeps working when the network doesn't. Sync Gateway (self-managed) or Capella App Services (fully managed) handles bidirectional sync between the device and Couchbase Server or Capella, with delta sync to cut bandwidth and built-in conflict resolution for concurrent writes. Couchbase Lite also supports peer-to-peer sync directly between devices.

Couchbase Platform

Couchbase Server is the self-managed core: a distributed NoSQL database with key-value, SQL++, full-text, and vector search, plus eventing and analytics, all running on your own infrastructure. Capella is the same engine delivered as a fully managed cloud service, so you can deploy clusters, scale, and run AI workloads without operating the database yourself. Both share the same data model and APIs, so you can run workloads on self-managed, managed, and hybrid deployments.
