feat: manage recordings and delete several at once - #1382
Depends on #1381. This branch is stacked on it and reuses its recordings code. Until #1381 merges, this PR's diff includes those two commits too; the new work is the last commit, 64e8ad58.
Summary
A Manage recordings row in the OpenScreen menu, under Open project, opens a dialog listing every take in the recordings folders, newest first.
Each row: a checkbox, the date, the size, and either Used by … with the project titles or Not used by any project. A Show in folder button reveals the take's video.
Selecting: pick takes one by one, Select all / Clear selection, or Select unused. The footer shows the selected count and size, or the total when nothing is selected.
Deleting:Delete asks Move the selected recordings (size) to the Trash? (Recycle Bin on Windows). Each take goes with all its files: the video, .cursor.json, .session.json and -webcam files. If the Trash refuses, the prompt offers Delete permanently for what is left. Removed files are dropped from media-links.registry.json; files that weren't removed keep their links.
Takes still in use: they can be deleted, but the prompt first names the projects that will lose that media.
Unreadable project files: if a project file doesn't parse, a banner says a recording marked unused may still be in use, and the prompt repeats it.
Safety in the main process:recordings.delete only accepts ids that name a take, <recordings folder>/recording-<digits>. Anything else is refused before a file is touched, including file names, other folders and ...
AiEditionService: new listRecordings and deleteRecordings.
Bridge actions recordings.list and recordings.delete.
New ManageRecordingsModal.tsx.
Strings in all 15 locales, a Managing recordings section on the media-library page in all 8 site languages, and manual checklist items.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added a recording manager that lists takes newest first, with file sizes and the projects that use them.
Select individual or unused recordings, reveal a recording’s location, and delete recordings with their associated files. Deletions go to the system Trash or Recycle Bin; permanent deletion requires confirmation if that fails.
The manager warns when selected recordings are used by projects or project information is unreadable.
Documentation
Added guidance for managing recordings in the media library documentation and translated it into several languages.
The editor adds a recordings manager for listing takes, viewing their project usage and sizes, revealing files, and deleting selected recordings. Native APIs support listing and disposal through Trash or permanent deletion.
Changes: Recording management
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Recording discovery and ID validation electron/ai-edition/project-recordings.ts, electron/ai-edition/project-recordings.test.ts
Recording sets now include the oldest modification time among their files. Listing deduplicates directories, associates takes with projects, sorts takes newest first, and reports unreadable project files. ID resolution validates that each requested ID identifies a take directly inside a configured recordings directory.
Native recording API and disposal src/native/contracts.ts, src/native/client.ts, src/native/browserShim.ts, electron/native-bridge/services/aiEditionService.ts, electron/ipc/nativeBridge.ts, electron/native-bridge/services/aiEditionService.deleteRecordings.test.ts, electron/ipc/nativeBridge.deleteProject.test.ts
The native bridge exposes listing and deletion requests. The service lists recordings and resolves IDs before removal. It reports Trash failures and removes media links only for files that are gone.
The top-bar action opens a dialog that lists and selects recordings, displays project usage and unreadable-project warnings, and can reveal a recording file. Deletion uses Trash first and switches to permanent deletion when Trash fails. Tests, translations, manual checks, and documentation cover the manager.

getopenscreen/openscreen#1477: This issue requests discarding a project after recording. This change supports manual deletion of saved recordings, but does not add deletion at window close.
A recording may rarely be deleted without an open-project warning, or lose its media link after an access error. These risks warrant owner awareness or follow-up.

Explanation
The description follows the required template and documents the feature, related issue, release and platform impact, implementation scope, testing, and known validation gaps. It notes that screenshots, manual checks, and running-app verification are not yet available, but the description is otherwise complete and relevant.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Directly linked issue #1376 has four coding requirements:
View saved recordings in the app. [#1376] ManageRecordingsModal.tsx lists takes from listRecordings (project-recordings.ts) with date, size, and project usage, newest first. A Show in folder action reveals the take's video.
Delete saved recordings in the app. [#1376] AiEditionService.deleteRecordings resolves ids with resolveRecordingIds and removes each take with its companion files (video, .cursor.json, .session.json, -webcam). Disposal is trash or permanent.
Delete several recordings at once. [#1376] The modal provides per-take checkboxes, Select all, Clear selection, and Select unused. The footer shows the selected count and size.
Warn before deleting recordings used by projects. [#1376] The confirmation names the projects that use the selected takes. Unreadable project files add a banner and a prompt note.
The main process refuses any id that does not name <recordings folder>/recording-<digits> before file access. The newest commit, 49960d8, validates the recordings.delete payload at the IPC boundary. Per the supplied summary, electron/ipc/nativeBridge.ts returns INVALID_REQUEST unless ids is a string array and disposal is trash or permanent. Tests are listed for project-recordings.test.ts, aiEditionService.deleteRecordings.test.ts, ManageRecordingsModal.test.tsx, and nativeBridge.deleteProject.test.ts.
Non-coding items are excluded: manual checklist runs, the requested demo video, the running-app check, and the rebase request.
Limitation: the incremental diff from e03c0c8 to 49960d8 was unavailable. A direct read of nativeBridge.ts was truncated before the recordings handler. The IPC validation behavior therefore rests on the whole-PR summary, which is consistent with the file contents read.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
Every change in the whole-PR diff (merge base 8fb5d4a to head 49960d8) supports the #1376 feature:
Core logic: project-recordings.ts (listing, id resolution, recordedAt), aiEditionService.ts (list and delete with registry link cleanup), nativeBridge.ts (list and delete handlers, IPC validation from 49960d8), contracts.ts, and client.ts.
Browser-mode stubs: browserShim.ts for the new bridge actions.
UI: ManageRecordingsModal.tsx, the NewEditorShell.tsx wiring, and the Manage recordings item in EditorTopBar.tsx.
Test fixtures: ProviderSettings.test.tsx and EditorTopBar.stylePresets.test.tsx pass a no-op manageRecordings action. EditorTopBar.test.tsx covers the new menu row.
Localized strings in 15 locales for the dialog.
Documentation: the media-library section in the English site and the 8 translated site languages, plus the manual E2E checklist. These describe the same feature.
Registry link cleanup for deleted files. This follows directly from deletion.
The #1381 commits (bbfbeff through 6539cb0) lie below the merge base. They are not part of this PR's diff. The 49960d8 test file name refers to deleteProject, but its added cases test recordings.delete validation. That work supports this feature.
No demonstrated unrelated product behavior appears in the supplied evidence.

Guard document.delete against a missing payload.
A raw IPC call with domain: "aiEdition", action: "document.delete", and no payload reaches the document.delete case. The recordings read throws a TypeError, and the generic catch returns INTERNAL_ERROR instead of INVALID_REQUEST. The unguarded request.payload.projectId read at the base commit already has this behavior, so this is a pre-existing issue, not one this change introduces.

@EtienneLescot the CodeRabbit threads are answered and resolved, and the branch is rebased on main. It is stacked on #1381, so it shows that PR's commits until #1381 merges. Ready for review.
@marcgabe15#1381 is merged (with one fix on top: the open project's row keeps its recordings). Could you rebase this one on main? Git drops the already-merged commits on its own.
Manage recordings, in the OpenScreen menu, lists each take in the
recordings folders with its size and the projects that use it. Takes can
be selected one by one, all at once or only the unused ones, then moved
to the Trash with their cursor, session and camera files; if the Trash
refuses, a permanent delete is offered. Deleting a take a project still
uses names that project first, and a project file that does not parse
puts up a warning that usage may be incomplete.
The main process only deletes ids that name a take in a recordings
folder.

Synchronize recordings management with the open project's pending save.
A reachable MCP full-document update can add a recording reference that is not yet in the saved project. applyAgentDocumentIfCurrent() installs the document before saveDocument() completes. The recordings menu remains available during this interval, but listRecordings() reads only persisted projects. The recording can therefore appear unused, and deleteRecordings() can remove it without the warning for the open project.
Make recordings listing and deletion wait for the open project's pending save, or include the live document in the usage check before deletion.
