The camera bubble currently has a fixed shadow. Add independent None, Light, Medium and Strong controls in Camera layout, persist the selection, and carry it through the shared native compositor for preview and export. Existing projects and scene payloads default to the historical appearance; cutout and non-PiP layouts retain their existing behavior.

No screenshot: the available local fixture has no camera track, so visual camera preview and exported frames have not been verified.
Testing
Node 22: 377 unit test files, 5,253 passed and 2 skipped; both TypeScript checks passed; Biome reports no errors and 36 existing warnings.
Added coverage for default and invalid values, project persistence, four UI choices and native scene serialization.
macOS Apple Silicon: compiled the LGPL FFmpeg SDK and native compositor addon; shared Rust geometry shadow scaling and layout-transition tests passed.
Opened the isolated desktop editor; camera shadow controls and visual preview/export were not manually exercised because the local fixture has no camera track. Physical camera, Windows and Linux were not tested.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added an independent webcam picture-in-picture shadow control, with options ranging from no shadow to a stronger shadow. It defaults to Medium and is saved with your project.
Shadow controls appear when the webcam background is not transparent.
Bug Fixes
Webcam shadow strength now follows the selected setting without affecting composition shadow or picture-in-picture sizing.
The editor adds a configurable webcam shadow intensity setting. Scene descriptions carry the setting to the compositor, which scales the webcam shadow weight while leaving the webcam destination unchanged.

Setting defaults, storage, and editor control src/lib/projectDefaults.ts, src/lib/ai-edition/store/editorSettings.ts, src/lib/ai-edition/store/editorSettings.test.ts, src/components/ai-edition/RightPanes.tsx, src/components/ai-edition/RightPanes.layout.test.tsx
The editor setting defaults to 0.6 and is bounded to 0..1. LayoutPane shows a camera shadow control when the webcam background is not transparent. Tests cover defaulting, persistence, bounds, and control selection.
Scene description setting src/native/sceneDescription.ts, src/native/sceneDescription.test.ts, crates/compositor/src/scene.rs
SceneEffects gains an optional webcam shadow value. buildSceneDescription serializes the editor setting. Tests cover independent values and the default.
Compositor shadow scaling crates/compositor/src/frame_geometry.rs, crates/compositor/src/compositor_windows.rs
plan_frame scales the layout-derived shadow weight using the scene value. The compositor comment now describes the shadow as configurable. Tests cover scaling and confirm that the webcam destination does not change.
getopenscreen/openscreen#1404: That PR adds the layout-derived webcam_shadow weight; this PR scales that weight using the camera shadow intensity setting.
Merge Risk: Low · up to edade
Some imported values display no selection, fallback shadows cannot be adjusted, and presets do not preserve the setting. These bounded issues warrant owner awareness and follow-up.

Assert that the composition shadow stays unchanged.
This test checks only webcamShadowIntensity. A handler that also changes shadowIntensity would pass. Seed a composition-shadow value and assert it after each camera-shadow click.

Update the camera-shadow test around `seedProject`, `renderLayout`, and

expected `webcamShadowIntensity`.
If plan_frame returns zero for every intensity, all scaling assertions pass. Assert the historical baseline to detect that regression.

layoutControlsDisabled, removing the transparent-mode restriction so the

- Line 2937: Update the webcamShadowIntensity control so values that do not
match one of its four presets still visibly show the current custom strength.
Keep the stored value unchanged and preserve the existing preset choices and

Review comments at @src/lib/projectDefaults.ts:

preset capture stores it, parsing accepts it, and application restores it; also
include it when copying appearance settings into a new project. Keep older
presets valid when this field is absent, preserving the existing fallback
behavior.

Thanks a lot for this, @swording-k! It's a clean change. I pushed a small tweak (the control is now hidden rather than disabled in cutout mode) and verified the export with a camera track. Merging once CI is green.
