[External Plugin]: recued #5997
Description
Plugin name
recued
Short description
Connects Copilot to your own self-hosted Recued server on the same computer. It works with your notes, tasks and the things you own through the tools you grant, and every change it asks for waits for your approval.

Who is submitting
This submission is from the Recued maintainers: we build Recued. Recued is a free, self-hosted server (AGPL-3.0), and this plugin is MIT. Nothing in it needs a paid plan or an account with us.
Use case and function
Recued keeps a person's notes, tasks, projects and records on their own computer, and stands between that data and any AI. The plugin adds two things to Copilot: Recued's local MCP server (recued --mcp) and the recued skill, which tells the agent how Recued's approvals work.
- Copilot sees only the tools the user's contract in Recued grants.
- Reading runs at once. A change Copilot asks for, such as adding a task, waits in Recued until the user approves it, and Recued records every call.
- The plugin holds no key. The user saves the contract's key in Recued with
recued mcp-key set, so no secret sits in the plugin or in Copilot's settings.
Requirements
- Recued 26.10.30 or later, installed and running on the same computer, with
recuedon the PATH that Copilot uses. - A contract made in the Recued web app. Its key is saved with
recued mcp-key set.
Without Recued installed, the plugin installs, but its MCP server cannot start.
Testing
Tested on 2026-10-30 in Codex 0.164 against Recued 26.10.30: installed from this repository, a first start with no tools, then recued mcp-key set and a restart, then a tool call that completed. We have not yet run it in Copilot itself, so your intake's Copilot install check is its first Copilot run.
Submission checklist
- The plugin lives in a public GitHub repository.
- The ref and/or sha I provided is immutable (release tag and/or full 40-character commit SHA), not a branch.
- This submission follows this repository's contribution, security, and responsible AI policies.
- This plugin is not already listed in the Awesome Copilot marketplace.
