Testing Details

Tested on:

  • macOS (Darwin 25.5) with specify-cli 1.1.3 and Node.js 24, on 2026-10-16

Test project: a fresh specify init --here --integration claude project (Express app), plus the DocGuard repository itself (raccioly/docguard at v0.45.1) as the real project.

Test scenarios and results:

  1. Installed with specify extension add docguard --from https://github.com/raccioly/docguard/releases/download/v0.45.1/spec-kit-docguard-v0.45.1.zip — no manifest validation errors; specify extension list shows DocGuard — CDD Enforcement (v0.45.1).
  2. All 13 declared speckit.docguard.* commands registered (13 skills under .claude/skills/speckit-docguard-*).
  3. All 5 declared workflow hooks registered in .specify/extensions.yml: before_specify (brief), before_tasks (preflight), after_tasks (score), after_implement (guard, then complete), after_converge (complete).
  4. Every command's underlying CLI call, run with the published docguard-cli@0.45.1 from npm in that project: init, guard, score, diagnose, generate --plan, sync, trace, anchors, review, fix, specs preflight, specs complete, diff, explain — all ran without errors (guard exits 2 = WARN on the blank scaffold, as designed).
  5. Real project: docguard guard on the DocGuard repository at v0.45.1 — PASS with no findings; docguard score 100/100.
  6. npm audit --omit=dev on the published package: 0 vulnerabilities. The release ZIP contains extension.yml (id docguard, version 0.45.1), README.md, LICENSE and the 13 command files; sha256 7248256490092dc3ae5d746b8925bfce8b16fd9ac251a7319f9b4665e83b4f95.

Example Usage

# Install the extension
specify extension add docguard --from https://github.com/raccioly/docguard/releases/download/v0.45.1/spec-kit-docguard-v0.45.1.zip

# Run the documentation quality gate
/speckit.docguard.guard
