Gitify offers high-contrast and color-blind friendly options, and it follows your operating system's increase-contrast setting.

- **Increase contrast** — in **Settings → Appearance**, turn on **Increase contrast**. Gitify also applies high-contrast colors automatically when your system's increase-contrast setting is on.
- **Color-blind themes** — in **Settings → Appearance → Theme**, choose a color-blind or Tritanopia variant.
- **Zoom** — use the zoom controls in **Settings → Appearance** to enlarge the interface.

The contrast and color-blind options are available with the **Classic** design. Glass follows the system increase-contrast setting by switching to solid surfaces.

title: "How do I make notification dismissal instant?"
category: "Accessibility"
order: 0
---

Turning on your operating system's Reduce Motion setting makes Gitify dismiss a notification immediately instead of sliding and fading the row out.

To enable Reduce Motion:

- **macOS** — open **System Settings → Accessibility → Display**, then turn on **Reduce motion**
- **Windows** — open **Settings → Accessibility → Visual effects**, then turn off **Animation effects**
- **Linux** — use your desktop environment's Reduce Motion or animation setting

This is useful on slow connections and when clearing several notifications quickly.

> The notification action still runs in the background. If it fails, the notification returns with the usual error feedback.

Gitify's Glass design follows your operating system's Reduce Transparency setting and switches to solid surfaces when it is on.

To enable Reduce Transparency:

- **macOS** — open **System Settings → Accessibility → Display**, then turn on **Reduce transparency**
- **Windows** — open **Settings → Accessibility → Visual effects**, then turn off **Transparency effects**
- **Linux** — use your desktop environment's Reduce Transparency setting

Gitify also switches Glass to solid surfaces when your system's increase-contrast setting is on.

> Reduce Transparency only changes the Glass design. The Classic design is already solid.

- **Zoom** — zoom in, zoom out, or reset zoom for the whole app
- **Show account header** — show the account header in the sidebar
- **Show full notification title** — show full notification titles instead of truncating them
