Sync upstream updates: Inertia live props, UnserializeCast and redirect credential removal - #735
inertiajs/inertia-laravel#901, inertiajs/docs#96 — Add live props, which refresh themselves when a broadcast event arrives. Always, deferred, once and optional props gain live(), Inertia::live() creates a live prop directly, and the page advertises each prop's channels, events and throttle so the client can subscribe. Inertia::broadcastProps() lets an event carry the new values itself, and DevTools flags live props. When an outgoing channel formatter is registered, live props advertise the formatted channels the broadcaster actually sends on, using the new Broadcaster::channelFormatter(). Document live props, leaving out the Rails-only Action Cable setup.
spatie/laravel-data#1220 — Add UnserializeCast for values stored with serialize(), such as serialized database columns or cache entries. It can fail silently, leaving the value to the built-in conversion. allowedClasses defaults to false, so no objects are restored unless their classes are listed. Spatie allows every class by default, which runs __wakeup() and __destruct() for any class named in the value. Pass true to allow every class. Document the cast, including nested classes and a warning against unserializing untrusted data.
Additional Hypervel changes
Remove headers set by Saloon authenticators once a redirect leaves the request's origin, and keep them removed if the chain returns to it. Guzzle strips only Authorization and Cookie, so other credentials were forwarded to the new origin. Custom and nested authenticators are covered, including writes that leave a value unchanged. The headers are removed before PSR hooks run, and a new retry attempt authenticates again. Headers added outside an authenticator are unchanged.
Keep MCP custom headers removed for the rest of a redirect chain once it leaves the configured origin. A chain that returned to that origin sent them again. This applies to transport and OAuth discovery requests; protocol and session headers are kept, and a new request sends the custom headers again.
Propagate cancellation, including cleanup failures that carry it, from coroutine exception reporting instead of falling back to the PHP error log and continuing. Reporting can suspend, so a canceled startup report no longer resumes later hooks or the task body. Uncaught cancellation from reporting is still contained at the coroutine boundary, and genuine cleanup failures are still reported.
Fix several live prop edge cases. An event whose broadcastAs() returns an integer-backed enum no longer throws while rendering. Channels keyed by connection follow the connection the event is broadcast via, so an event without a named connection advertises its '' channels, which the broadcast job sends on the default connection. A partial reload that names a nested path of a live prop, such as order.total, now sends the prop's listeners along with its value, so a changed channel is picked up. An initial load resolves each live prop's listeners once instead of twice, and a scroll prop reused across Inertia::broadcastProps() calls resolves again each time instead of repeating its first payload.
Leave coroutine cancellation unwrapped in Inertia while reading live prop event names and channels, rescuing deferred props, and reading or flushing DevTools entries. A canceled DevTools flush previously disabled recording for the rest of the worker.
Leave a rescued prop returned from a closure out of the response along with its metadata, as one resolved directly already is. It was sent as null, with its metadata and live listeners.
Stop UnserializeCast's silent failure from treating coroutine cancellation as a failed cast. Restore hooks of allowed classes can suspend, such as SerializesModels querying the database.
Follow OpenTelemetry semantic conventions 1.45. open-telemetry/sem-conv 1.45.0 removed the incubating messaging constant the queue instrumentation used, so the instrumentation now imports only stable definitions and defines the development-status names it emits itself. Queue telemetry reports messaging.system.name, with SQS as aws.sqs. The database pool limit metric is db.client.connection.limit, and Hypervel's object pool metric is renamed from hypervel.object_pool.max to hypervel.object_pool.limit to match. gRPC uses the stable rpc.* attributes, including rpc.status_code. Instrumentation scopes report the 1.45 schema URL, and the resource keeps the schema URL the SDK detects instead of setting its own.
Remove the PHPStan suppressions from readNotifications() and unreadNotifications(), now that the Eloquent PHPStan extensions resolve named scopes through typed relations.
Affected tests, formatting, facade docblocks, and source and type-fixture analysis pass. CI runs the full suite and supported service matrix.
Note
Add Inertia live props, UnserializeCast, and redirect credential removal
Adds live props to Inertia: props can declare broadcast events and channels via HasLiveUpdates and LiveProp, and ResponseFactory::broadcastProps() builds a broadcast payload of resolved props under __inertia.props (PropsResolver.php, ResponseFactory.php)
Adds UnserializeCast to the data package. It restores no objects by default; classes must be listed in allowedClasses, and failSilently returns an Uncastable result for eligible failures (UnserializeCast.php)
Removes authentication and custom headers after a redirect leaves the configured origin, keeping them removed for the rest of the chain (Sender.php, RestrictHeadersToOrigin.php)
Upgrades open-telemetry/sem-conv to ^1.45; instrumentation scopes now report the 1.45.0 schema URL, and incubating attribute/metric constants are replaced with stable or local definitions
Cancellation exceptions now propagate instead of being swallowed by coroutine error reporting, Inertia DevTools, prop rescue, and the unserialize cast
Behavioral Change: pool metric names rename from db.client.connection.max to db.client.connection.limit and hypervel.object_pool.max to hypervel.object_pool.limit, including published config defaults in opentelemetry.php; calling merge() on a live prop now throws LogicException; messaging.system attribute becomes messaging.system.name
Inertia pages can now update props in response to broadcast events, with configurable channels and refresh throttling. Broadcast payloads resolve supported prop types.
Added a data cast for restoring serialized values, with class allowlisting by default.
Added access to the currently registered broadcast channel formatter.
Bug Fixes
Authentication and custom headers are no longer forwarded after redirects leave their configured origin; credentials are restored on a new retry.
Cancellation now propagates consistently through coroutine error reporting and Inertia developer-tools operations.
Improvements
Updated OpenTelemetry metric names and instrumentation to align with newer semantic conventions.
Track header writes while Saloon authenticators run, including custom and
nested authenticators and writes that leave an existing value unchanged.
Remove those headers before PSR hooks when a redirect leaves the request
origin, and keep them removed if the chain returns to that origin. A fresh
retry attempt authenticates normally.
Apply the same persistent removal to MCP transport requests and OAuth
advertisement probes without removing protocol or session headers. Keep
state local to each request rather than sharing it across operations.
Document the credential boundary and its coupling to header mutations.
Record the agreed redirect and cancellation-reporting invariants in the
framework plan. Preserve absolute endpoints, ordinary custom headers and
application-owned PSR hooks without introducing a new authentication API.
Validation: the Saloon sender, MCP transport, OAuth endpoint and OAuth
discovery tests, source, type-fixture and skeleton analysis, and
formatting passed. Regressions cover cross-origin return hops, fresh
operations, retries, identical header values and custom authenticators.
Exception handlers can suspend and throw cleanup failures carrying the
coroutine's cancellation. Propagate those failures before the PHP error-log
fallback so startup error reporting cannot resume later hooks or the task
body after cancellation.
Contain cancellation from reporting at the terminal coroutine boundary
while continuing to report genuine task cleanup failures. Keep native-only
error-log handling unchanged and remove the redundant direct-cancellation
catch around startup hooks, whose contract prohibits suspension.
Extend the owned-startup regression with real engine cancellation and
throwing reporter cleanup, and cover cancellation during terminal reporting.
The startup regression failed before the fix and passed afterward.
Validation: CoroutineTest, source, type-fixture and skeleton analysis, and
formatting passed.
The Eloquent PHPStan extensions now resolve named scopes through typed
relations. Remove the method-not-found suppressions from readNotifications
and unreadNotifications, and remove the completed extension work item from
the framework todo list.
This changes no runtime behavior or public signatures. Source, type-fixture
and skeleton analysis passed without the suppressions.
Props can now refresh themselves when a broadcast event arrives. Always,
deferred, once and optional props gain live(), Inertia::live() creates a
live prop directly, and the page advertises each prop's channels, events
and throttle so the client can subscribe. Inertia::broadcastProps() lets
an event carry the new values itself, and DevTools flags live props.
Port of inertiajs/inertia-laravel#901 at 3.x e68dadfc16, with
inertiajs/docs#96 at main 8cfece18fd. The docs keep the client version
badges, mark live props as v3.11.0+, and leave out the Rails-only Action
Cable setup.
Hypervel adaptations:
- When an outgoing channel formatter is registered, live props advertise
the formatted channels the broadcaster actually sends on, reading the
channel type back from its prefix. Broadcaster::channelFormatter()
exposes the registered formatter for this.
- Canceled requests are no longer turned into ordinary errors while
reading event names and channels, rescuing deferred props, or reading
and flushing DevTools entries. A canceled flush previously disabled
DevTools recording for the worker.
- A rescued prop returned from a closure is now left out of the response
with its metadata, as one resolved directly is. Upstream sent null and
fresh live listeners for it.
- The broadcast values docs say that deferred and optional props are
resolved, matching the code.
All upstream LivePropTest, BroadcastPropsTest and DevTools test changes
are ported, with regressions for formatted channels, cancellation and
closure-returned rescued props. The Inertia and Broadcasting suites,
facade docblock checks, analysis and formatting pass.
Data objects can now restore values that were stored with serialize(),
such as serialized database columns or cache entries, through
#[WithCast(UnserializeCast::class)]. The cast can fail silently, leaving
the value to the built-in conversion, and allowedClasses limits which
classes unserialize() may create.
Port of spatie/laravel-data#1220 at main a161f325d5.
Hypervel adaptations:
- allowedClasses defaults to false, so no objects are restored unless
their classes are listed. Spatie allows every class by default, which
runs __wakeup() and __destruct() for any class named in the value.
Pass true to allow every class.
- failSilently no longer turns coroutine cancellation into a failed
cast. The restore hooks of allowed classes can suspend, such as
SerializesModels querying the database.
- The docs cover the allowed classes, including nested ones, and warn
against unserializing untrusted data. Their failSilently example lists
the class it restores.
All upstream UnserializeCast tests are ported, with coverage for the
default, a data object restoring only allowed classes, and cancellation
during a restore hook. The cast tests, analysis and formatting pass.
This pull request adds Inertia live props and broadcast-prop resolution, adds UnserializeCast, and changes redirect-chain header and coroutine cancellation handling. It also updates OpenTelemetry instrumentation for semantic-conventions 1.45 and changes related documentation, tests, and package dependencies.

The following are alternative approaches to this PR:
1. Use polling instead of live subscriptions
➕ Avoids broadcast channel metadata and transport integration.
➖ Introduces repeated requests and cannot react immediately to broadcasts.
2. Build a separate broadcast prop conversion path
➕ Could isolate event payload generation from page response behavior.
➖ Duplicates resource and prop-wrapper resolution rules, increasing the risk of inconsistent values.
Recommendation: Keep the PR's shared prop-resolution approach and opt-in live metadata: it preserves page conversion semantics while allowing events to carry values when reload fan-out is costly. Review the live protocol and redirect credential boundary especially carefully.

1. Live pages miss events on other connections✓ Resolved
Description
channelsForDefaultConnection() always selects channels using broadcasting.default, while the
broadcast job selects them using the event's broadcastConnections(). When an event broadcasts
through a non-default connection with connection-keyed channels, the page advertises the wrong
listener or fails to render if the default connection has no entry.
2. Numeric event names break live pages✓ Resolved
Description
resolveEventName() returns enum_value() without converting its result to the declared string
return type, unlike the broadcast job. When broadcastAs() returns an integer-backed enum,
broadcasting converts its value to a name successfully, but generating the live listener metadata
throws instead.

open-telemetry/sem-conv 1.45.0 renamed messaging.system to
messaging.system.name and removed the old incubating constant without a
deprecated alias, which broke the queue instrumentation. The generator
drops renamed development-status constants in minor releases, and
OpenTelemetry's guidance is for instrumentation to depend on stable
definitions or own copies of unstable ones.
Instrumentation now imports only stable definitions (RpcAttributes,
ServiceAttributes, DeploymentAttributes) and defines the development-status
names it emits as its own constants:
- Queue: messaging.system.name, with SQS reported as aws.sqs, plus the
destination, operation and message attributes it already used.
- Pool: db.client.connection.*, with the max metric renamed to
db.client.connection.limit as in 1.45. Hypervel's own object pool metric
follows it, from hypervel.object_pool.max to hypervel.object_pool.limit,
in the metric, config keys, normalizer and docs.
- gRPC: the stable rpc.system.name, rpc.method and rpc.status_code.
- HTTP server/client, database, Redis and user context: the remaining
development-status names they emit.
Every Hypervel tracer, meter and logger scope now reports the 1.45 schema
URL. The resource no longer sets one of its own, so it keeps the schema URL
of the SDK's detected resource instead of conflicting with it during the
merge, which would drop both.
The sem-conv requirement is raised to ^1.45 at the root and in the
package. The stability note in the docs reflects 1.45.
Tests assert the emitted names literally, check the scope schema URL in
the queue, pool and gRPC exports, and cover the messaging system name for
the SQS and Beanstalkd drivers. The OpenTelemetry tests, formatting and
static analysis pass.
- An event whose broadcastAs() returns an integer-backed enum threw a
TypeError while rendering the page. The name is now cast to a string, as
the broadcast job casts it.
- Channels keyed by connection now follow the connection the event is
broadcast via. An event without a named connection is sent on the
default connection with its '' channels, so those are advertised;
otherwise the default connection's named channels are used, as before.
- A partial reload that names a nested path of a live prop, such as
order.total, sends the whole prop but left out its listeners, so the
client kept listening on the old channel when the prop's channel had
changed. Every live prop a partial reload sends now carries its
listeners. The protected collector signatures keep upstream's
$parentWasResolved parameter for resolvers that override them.
- On an initial load, listeners were resolved twice for each sent live
prop, calling each event's broadcastOn() twice. They are now collected
once.
- A scroll prop reused across broadcastProps() calls returned its first
payload every time. Broadcast resolution now clones scroll props, as
page resolution already does.
- The DevTools cancellation test now also checks that a storage failure
still suspends recording when logging it is canceled.
Each fix has a regression test. The Inertia tests, formatting and static
analysis pass.

Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Preserve the existing object-pool metric name.
Existing dashboards and alerts that query hypervel.object_pool.max will stop receiving data after this rename. This is a Hypervel-specific metric, so the OpenTelemetry schema does not translate it. Keep the old name or provide a transition alias. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Live props read connection-keyed channels for the default connection, but
did not follow the connections the event is broadcast via. An event
broadcast only via another connection was still advertised on the default
connection's channels, which never receive it. An event broadcast via
both the unnamed and the named default connection advertised only one of
the two channel groups the broadcast job sends.
The default connection's channels are now collected the way the broadcast
job sends them: the '' group for an event without a named connection and
the default connection's own group when the event is broadcast via it.
When neither applies, the existing error asks for the channel argument.
Upstream's per-connection fixture keyed its channels without naming the
connections it is broadcast via, so the broadcast job could not send it.
It now declares them. New cases cover both groups on the default
connection and an event broadcast only on another connection.
The Inertia tests, formatting and static analysis pass.
