fix(ideas): clear new badges on interaction - #14

Catalog and vault loaders recover from a stale/corrupt sealed file via the .migrate-bak plaintext backup, re-sealing under the current file key instead of bricking unlock. Integration suites set ORQUESTRA_KEYRING_DISABLE=1 and temp-root storage skips the OS keyring, so tests can no longer read or rotate the host keyring entry. Host ~/.orquestra/mcps.json restored and re-sealed (13 servers verified). 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
install.sh detects OS/arch via uname and fetches the matching release asset (orquestra-linux-x86_64 with legacy alias fallback, orquestra-macos-arm64), rejecting unsupported platforms with a clean error. macOS installs only the binary, skipping all XDG desktop steps. Icons resolve the latest release tag first instead of curling the moving main branch. Alias launchers gain idempotent NoDisplay=true in install.sh and desktop_icons.rs, leaving orquestra.desktop the single visible entry. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Eliminates the trust-on-first-use gap between the native updater and fresh installs. install.sh embeds the release public key (matching update_sig.rs), fetches SHA256SUMS.txt.minisig, and verifies the detached prehashed signature before trusting any checksum: reference minisign when present, an inline PyNaCl check otherwise. A bad signature always fails closed; absent verifier/asset warns loudly unless --require-sig turns it into a hard failure. docs/security.md records the key and manual verification commands. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Extends the build matrix with a macOS Intel (x86_64) job producing orquestra-macos-x86_64, standardizing artifact/bin_name pairs across all three platforms. install.sh and the in-app updater accept the new asset (mapping test extended); the unified publisher already signs SHA256SUMS.txt over every artifact with SHA256SUMS.txt.minisig. Uses macos-15-intel: macos-13 was retired in Dec 2025. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Adds zeroize-and-unlink purge for .migrate-bak plaintext backups left by the at-rest encryption migration. at_rest::purge_migration_backup gates each file on its sealed counterpart still opening, refuses symlinks, overwrites in 64KB zero chunks with fsync, then unlinks. New vault_purge_migration_backups IPC command (vault-ops scope, ACL fixture and contract updated) covers vault.json and mcps.json with per-file report, behind an explicit Credentials-screen confirmation modal. CHANGELOG, docs/vault.md and IPC_API.md carry the pre-alpha.5 key rotation advisory: purge, then rotate provider keys. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
…arity Replaces the stale hardcoded copy at orquestra.internetdozero.com.br with a Worker that resolves the latest release tag, serves install.sh at that tag byte-identical, and answers with SHA-256 ETag, 304 on If-None-Match, and bounded caching with instant invalidation on tag change. Adds wrangler config, a deploy script with a fail-closed served-vs-tag parity check, a deploy guide, and Workers runtime globals for ESLint. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Keeps format:check green; whitespace only. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Rewrites the alpha.5 section (and the Unreleased advisory) into standard Added/Changed/Fixed/Security categories in plain international English, dropping emoji headings and superlatives while preserving every release entry. Reconciles the README alpha warning: breaking changes between alphas are stated plainly, core modules are described as test-covered and suitable for daily local workflows instead of production-ready. README.pt-BR.md mirrors the adjusted warning in Portuguese. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Replaces the manual URL splitter with url::Url (the same crate reqwest sends with), so validator and sender cannot disagree on the host. Raw backslashes, control bytes and encoded separators in the authority are rejected pre-parse; post-parse requires https, port 443, no userinfo and a domain host, closing decimal/hex/octal/IPv6 literal bypasses. The *.supabase.co wildcard is gone: the allowed host derives from service.meta project_ref or endpoint, with guidance on missing meta. execute_once sends the parsed Url verbatim; redirects stay on the first origin (scheme+port+host) with a 5-hop cap. Regression tests cover the backslash bypass, control bytes, all IP notations, sibling-tenant rejection, parity corpus, and the redirect fence with header-leak proof. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
…e key migration Implements #323: v2 envelopes with per-file AAD, keyring-first resolution with 0600 fallback, verify-then-unlink migration, and downgrade refusal. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>

…runtime dir Implements #325: minisign trusted comment binds version=file, semver requirement for strictly newer targets, download caps and timeouts, XDG/uid-checked 0700 runtime directory with no swallowed errors. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Implements #324: typed transport errors with safe-to-retry verdicts, POST/PATCH replay protection without idempotency keys, body-aware 403 quota-vs-permission classification, and 401 cooldowns with recovery. 🤖 Generated with Codebuff Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Move the harness registry, storage layout and a shared error type into crates/orquestra-core so later crates can share them without depending on Tauri; src-tauri keeps thin re-exports so every existing import and the public paths/harness API stay unchanged. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
…rsers Move the per-harness MCP config serializers out of the desktop shell into a pure orquestra-harness crate that speaks a dialect-neutral HarnessServer, so the JSON/JSONC/TOML rewriting logic no longer depends on Tauri or the app's catalog type; the shell keeps a thin projection and re-exports the renderer, leaving every IPC handler and the rendered bytes unchanged. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
…layer Move the credential store, the SSRF-gated blind HTTP proxy, the shell-free exec proxy and the AES-256-GCM at-rest sealing into a Tauri-free orquestra-vault crate, leaving the shell with only the IPC commands and re-export shims, so the security layer can be built and tested on its own while the sealing envelopes, exec allowlist and key-injection behavior stay byte-for-byte unchanged. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
…rotocol Move harness fusion (backup, projection, secondary-location sweep) and fleet status into a Tauri-free orquestra-bridge crate, and move the master AGENTS.md handling plus the SKILL.md marker into orquestra-core so fusion no longer reaches back into the shell; src-tauri keeps re-exports so the IPC commands, tray status and --bridge/--mcp CLI flags behave identically. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
The 865-line module and its 641-line key resolver broke the project's 300-400 line budget. Divide both by job (seal/unseal/migrate/backup/io and ring/fallback/resolve) with the code moved verbatim; the public surface, envelope format and on-disk behaviour are unchanged. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
The vault carried a verbatim copy of the shell's log macros, and the next crate extraction (sessions) would need a third. Move `now()` and the three `#[macro_export]` macros into orquestra-core and re-export them at the shell, binary and vault roots, so `crate::log_*!` call sites and the `<timestamp> [<module>] LEVEL <message>` format stay unchanged. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
The catalog (wire types plus the nine harness adapters) was 80% of a 10k-line module that touched Tauri in exactly one file. Move that layer into a Tauri-free crate, leaving the shell with the IPC commands, the pin and retention sidecar, purge execution and the scheduler; paths are unchanged through a re-export, so the seven command signatures and the transcript readers behave identically. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
…essions The shell kept the pin/retention sidecar, purge execution and the auto-purge daemon only because the extraction stopped at the catalog. Move them to the crate so `sessions/mod.rs` holds nothing but the seven IPC wrappers; the frozen payload-shape guard stays behind with the IPC contract fixture, which belongs to the app, not to the crate. Three tests read or rewrote the process-global XDG_RUNTIME_DIR, so `ensure_scratch_root_creates_0700` could run while a sibling had the variable temporarily removed and observe the wrong root. Guard the scope with a mutex and a restore-on-drop guard, and run both creation branches under an explicit value instead of whatever the host exports. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
The harness tests set and removed CODEX_HOME/CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR with ad-hoc restores, and the path tests had their own lock for XDG_RUNTIME_DIR — so one crate's tests mutated the process environment on different schedules. Move the guard into a shared test-only module: one mutex for the whole crate, a capture/set API and a restore-on-drop that survives a failing assertion. Assertions are unchanged. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
The harness tests could only exercise env overrides by setting CODEX_HOME and CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR on the process, which every other test thread can observe. Split resolution into `resolve_install_dir_with`/`is_installed_with`, which take the reader, and keep the existing functions delegating to the real environment: public callers in bridge and the shell are unchanged, while the tests now describe an environment instead of mutating one. On macOS sweep_system_caches passed an empty /proc/net/unix table because the file does not exist there, so every socket under ~/.orquestra looked dead and the running instance's own orquestra.sock was unlinked. An absent liveness table now stays None and socket sweeping is skipped; an empty one still means "nothing is live".
The Health panel only ever read /proc, so on macOS it surfaced an explicit error. Collection is now split per OS: Darwin reads hw.memsize, host_statistics64 page counters, vm.swapusage, getloadavg and statvfs on the scratch volume, with /bin/ps for top processes. The wire shape is unchanged.
utils.rs, claude.rs, codex.rs and the adapter test modules each ran past 400 lines. They are now facades over focused submodules — sizing/text/json/ sqlite, history/layout, indexes/files, and per-harness test files — with every public path and helper unchanged. Move only: the suite still runs the same 124 cases with the same 451 assertions.
Nothing in CI ever compiled the workspace for Windows, so every Windows gap went unnoticed. The job runs `cargo check --workspace` on windows-latest and is non-blocking until the port lands: orquestra-bridge still calls std::os::unix::fs::symlink unconditionally and the single-instance guard is Unix-only, so it reports the compile state rather than gating merges.
Spawning /bin/ps on every five-second refresh paid for a process launch, a pipe and a text parse to learn three numbers the kernel already keeps. The collector now walks pids with proc_listpids and reads each one through proc_pidinfo/proc_name, so the same data arrives without a fork or a parser that can drift when ps reflows its columns. Only the two documented leading fields of proc_taskinfo are trusted: pti_virtual_size and pti_resident_size as the first two u64s. The kernel writes the whole struct into a buffer sized from libc's own definition, but nothing past byte 16 is read, a short read is skipped instead of truncated, and two const assertions pin the offsets libc actually lays out. The decoders and the pid ranking stayed pure, so their behaviour is still tested on any host. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Nine production sites each read HOME for themselves, and every one of them returned an error on Windows, which sets USERPROFILE instead: no vault, no harness session stores, no idea vault, no "~" expansion. The lookup now lives in orquestra_core::paths::home, tries HOME and then USERPROFILE, and treats a variable that is set but empty (or whitespace-only) as absent rather than resolving every path against the filesystem root. Every call site goes through it: OrquestraPaths::resolve, the bridge and session-adapter homes (which keep their existing signatures and purpose strings), the janitor sweep, the updater's binary fallback, the idea vault and the three desktop paths. The lookup is injectable, matching the harness resolver, so its order and empty-value rules are tested without mutating the process environment that sibling tests read. tests.rs had reached 383 lines and still mixed the shared fixture with every kind of assertion: what a purge deletes, what must survive it, and when a scheduled run is due. Reading a failure meant scrolling past unrelated cases to find the fixture, and the next deletion case had nowhere left to go. The root now holds only the fixture and the module wiring. Cases live by intent: deletion (generic removals, dry run, id list, empty run) with the per-harness layouts one level down in deletion/per_harness, safety (pins, unreadable ages, locks, store confinement, idempotence) and policy (scheduler decisions, per-harness TTLs, scheduled runs still honouring pins). A pure move: the suite reports the same 122 passed / 2 ignored, the 23 tests and 100 assertions are the same lines, and the only edits are import paths, section headers and two call qualifiers that lost a redundant `super::`. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
The macOS health collector is entirely behind `#[cfg(target_os = "macos")]`, so the Linux job never parses it: a mistake in the libproc and `host_statistics64` half reaches main with every gate green. The new job runs `cargo check --workspace --all-targets` on macos-latest, which is the first place that code is compiled at all. It starts non-blocking, like the Windows baseline, because no macOS runner has ever built this workspace and the first runs are what establish its state. Dropping `continue-on-error` once it is green turns it into the gate that keeps the collector compiling. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
… status The Windows fallback was only covered by unit tests of the lookup itself, so nothing asserted that the real command path resolves every harness directory from USERPROFILE when HOME is absent. That is the launch a Windows build actually performs, and the failure mode it replaces is total: no vault, no harness directories, an error naming a variable Windows does not set. The shared test fixture gains a Windows-shaped entry point that removes HOME and points USERPROFILE at the scratch tree, reusing the same process lock and env restore as the Unix one; the Unix path deliberately leaves USERPROFILE untouched so a broken HOME lookup cannot silently pass. The test then requires every harness target and secondary path to live under that scratch tree. Removing USERPROFILE from HOME_VARS makes the new test fail with the old "HOME or USERPROFILE is not set" error, which is the regression it locks down. AGENTS.md caps files at 300-400 lines and nothing enforced it, so splits regrew: three of the files this cleanup touched were already at the edge, and seven elsewhere are far past it. The check scans every .rs file outside build output and fails a file that passes 400 lines without a baseline entry. Existing offenders are recorded at their current length rather than exempted. A baselined file fails on any change of length — growth because it regrew, shrinking because the entry is now wrong — so splitting a module tightens the ratchet instead of leaving room to grow back into. `npm run check:lines` runs it, `-- --update` rewrites the entries after an intended change, and `npm test` fails the CI node job on a violation. Generated with Codebuff 🤖 Co-Authored-By: Codebuff <noreply@codebuff.com>
Splitting the cases left every module counting levels to borrow something:
`super::super::{estimate, execute}` from the tests root, and
`super::super::super::execute` from the per-harness cases nested one deeper.
The depth was an artefact of where the fixture happened to live, not
information a reader needs, and it changed shape every time a file moved.
The tests root now re-exports the purge entry points beside the fixture, so all
four case modules import from `super` alone. The per-harness cases moved up to
a sibling of `deletion` for the same reason, which also removes the nested
`deletion/per_harness` directory that existed only to hold them.
A pure move: same 122 passed / 2 ignored, same 23 tests and 100 assertions,
and no line of a test body changed.

Write remote server headers under http_headers, not headers.
Codex reads static headers for a streamable HTTP server from mcp_servers.<id>.http_headers. The mcp_servers..url key selects the HTTP transport, and community setup guides use http_headers for the header map. For example, http_headers = { "X-API-KEY" = "…" }Static header sent on every request.
This renderer writes [mcp_servers.<id>.headers]. Codex does not read that key. Consider a remote catalog server whose headers field carries an Authorization value. Codex connects without that header, and the request fails authentication. The secret is also written to config.toml but never used. Grok shares McpFormat::CodexToml, so confirm that Grok uses the same key name.
The existing Codex test covers only a stdio server. Add a remote-server assertion for the TOML dialect.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Fall back to the 0600 key file when the keyring fails.
keyring_usable only checks for a session bus (ring.rs keyring_reachable). It does not check for a working Secret Service. Consider a Linux host with a D-Bus session but no Secret Service provider, or with a locked collection. On that host, read_keyring_key() returns Err. Line 52 then warns "using a 0600 key file", but the code never creates that file. If no fallback key and no sealed file exist, Line 67 calls create_keyring_key(). That call fails on the same backend, so file_key returns Err. Every seal_text then fails, including save_vault, save_catalog, and the legacy migration. The vault cannot be used on those hosts, and the warning message is wrong.
When the keyring read or create fails, create the fallback key. Do this only when no sealed file exists. That check already prevents lockout.

Keep a readable copy when migration verification fails.
The failure branch can destroy the only readable copy of the secrets. By the time verification runs, Line 27 has already replaced the legacy file with sealed. Line 43 then overwrites the plaintext backup with the same sealed bytes. Both copies are now sealed under one key, and verify_reopen has just failed to open data under that key.
A realistic trigger exists. create_keyring_key is not race-safe, unlike create_fallback_key, which uses create_new. If two processes (for example, the app and the headless CLI) migrate on first run, the second set_password replaces the first key. The first process sealed with K1, but verify_reopen reads K2. After this branch runs, K1 exists only in that process's memory cache. On the next load, self_heal_no_key cannot open the sealed backup, so the vault and catalog are permanently lost.
On failure, restore the legacy bytes to path and keep the plaintext backup. That disk state is no worse than before the migration started. Return the error after the restore.

Security Misconfiguration
Reachability: External
Exploitability: Difficult
CWE: CWE-294 — Authentication Bypass by Capture-replay
Parse exactly four lines in verify_trusted_comment. Minisign reads the first four signature-file lines and does not reject trailing content. The current parser scans every trusted comment: line, so an appended line for the current version can make an older valid signed release pass metadata validation.
Reject trailing signature-file content

Review comment at @install.sh around lines 153 - 158:
Update verify_trusted_comment to validate that the signature file has exactly
four lines and extract the trusted comment only from line three. Reject files
with trailing content or an invalid line count so appended metadata cannot
satisfy version validation.

Stub uname so the installer test is host-independent.
install.sh selects the release asset from uname -s and uname -m. The fixture serves only orquestra-linux-x86_64, so the test fails on macOS or on unsupported Linux architectures instead of testing signature behavior. The macOS CI job runs npm test.

Stub uname alongside the minisign fixture in the installer signature test,
making install.sh receive Linux and x86_64 regardless of the host. Add the stub
to binDir and make it executable so the fixture selects the provided
