Summary

The 1Password credential guidance told agents they could only delete and recreate a credential after the access request reached a confirmed failed status. When an owner misses the approval prompt and explicitly asks for a fresh request, agents refused because the old request was still pending_authorization.

This keeps the protection against agents deleting and recreating an item on their own to retry an uncertain request, but allows one delete-and-recreate whenever the end-user asks for a new request, whatever the current status.

  • manage_vault_items description: replace the "only after a confirmed failed status" rule with the owner-request rule.
  • 1Password credential response guidance: same change for the pending/uncertain case.
  • Test asserts the updated wording.

Testing

  • bun test (927 pass)
  • prettier --check on changed files
