Motivation & Context

OpenViking is an open-source context database with 40K+ GitHub stars (40,654 verified on October 23, 2026). Its Python context provider retrieves relevant context before agent runs and captures conversations and tool calls for application-controlled memory extraction. This change makes that published integration discoverable in the community catalog, following the maintainer invitation in #8991. The integration was merged in volcengine/OpenViking#5578 and is available in the public repository with installation instructions, an example, and tests.

Description & Review Guide

  • What are the major changes? Add one OpenViking row under Context providers, alphabetically after MemorySync.
  • What is the impact of these changes? Readers can find the integration and open support issues with OpenViking. Only the Python catalog changes.
  • What do you want reviewers to focus on? The distinction between the context database and its Python ContextProvider: pre-run retrieval, conversation and tool-call capture, and explicit memory extraction. The 40K+ star count is a public project metric, not a usage or compatibility claim. Also check component placement and the direct integration and issue-creation links. The entry makes no Microsoft endorsement or version compatibility claims.
