... so I'm now interested in doing this - and happy to help. I'm [personally] specifically interested in this library, and java-multibase which this depends on (so multiformats/java-multibase#32), only - but (personally) not ipfs-shipyard/java-ipfs-http-client#256 (which I don't actively use currently).
Perhaps I could just do a manual one-time deployment already, before we invest into the full automation suggested here?
Let's settle on the <groupId> package namespace here, first.
Note: given CID will change on new releases, the DNSLink "enhanced" entry point will be https://ipfs.maveniverse.eu/
That CID above reflects "current state of affairs", but merkle tree root will change whenever new release is added.

Personally I love the current JitPack based set-up, and prefer it, because:

@cstamas @ianopolous I've changed my mind 😆 about this, because JitPack is (currently) down...

Wait, it's actually available on https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.github.multiformats/java-multihash already...
vorburger commentedon Mar 8, 2026
No, it's not;
mvnrepository.comis (apparently, new?!) just indexing and showing (some?) stuff from Jitpack as well now, that's all.vorburger commentedon Mar 8, 2026
I meant here.

Well, you know, "dogfooding" 😉
Try
QmbaoenBMNAJfUx6aR7otYEp4SGxU8CCFXUFxQUfPLHzoF, it is there.Or https://ipfs.maveniverse.eu/
Ideally join running IPFS daemon and pin the CID above to your instance too (I have two, one in Hungary and one in Denmark, but is still slow).

Also, Maven can consume CID directly using https://github.com/maveniverse/ipfs and some GH actions (see here: https://github.com/maveniverse/parent/blob/main/.github/workflows/ci.yml#L75-L85 and https://github.com/maveniverse/ipfs/pull/4/changes for ideas

But in general, yes, publishing to Maven Central would be the best.
