With built-program manual selection enabled, ordinary builds rendered pages for disabled drivers and optional programs, while installation omitted them. Explicitly selected driver pages could also be installed without appearing in the ordinary manual build list.
The change builds manuals from the section-specific installation lists, includes explicit driver selections, and honours all-program selection independently of driver and platform availability. API manuals retain the existing
--with-devpolicy. Distribution lists and rendering recipes are unchanged.On Linux at
f96c4528dd616050e076879ac6d53fb3cdc853ce, the baseline selected 269 build targets against 22 installed pages. The candidate built and installed matching sets of 22 pages in selected mode, 23 with an explicit dummy driver, and 114 in all-program mode. All 273 required distribution manuals rendered as groff pages or aliases. Bootstrap, page checks, release-note rendering and spelling, ASCII and whitespace checks passed.The identical manual Makefile also passed twelve delivery configurations, prebuilt installation with documentation tools disabled, and bounded
make -j2 distcheck-lightat73c4502191d025e35122463986a80c676e734b04. The relevant selection, rendering and distribution inputs were compared before retaining those results.Addresses #2979.
