Android logs
I took a test photo, waited for a while and then searched the logcat output for relevant information. This is what I found. I hope it's useful since I'm not an expert in interpreting these logfiles.
My custom ROM is ProjectMatrixx v11.2.5.
Auto upload worked more or less reliably until the latest update.
I also noticed that the list of previous uploads suddenly shows dates from December 1969 for all the uploaded files.
Might be the same issue as in #16333.
unfortunately this is broken since a long time: #15291
the workaround is to reinstall from scratch (uninstall, install, setup autoupload) after an update: #15291 (comment)
Interesting. For me auto upload used to work until the update to 3.35.0 got installed via F-Droid. My setup with custom folders survived several updates so it seems I was never affected by this bug. I will try the workaround anyway and reinstall from scratch when I find the time to.

Same here, worked up until the update to 3.35.0. As a dev by myself I appreciate all the effort that goes into this app, but how can such a core function be broken for such a long time? Is it a platform issue?

Thanks for info, but I did it right now and still autoupload does not work. I appreciate devs work on this app but things could be more polished now after 8 years of development. Anyway I am waiting for fix, now its not working.
EDIT: 2 hours after reinstalling the app, the auto upload started to work.
Getting photos uploaded into /Autoupload/Camera/storage/emulated/0/DCIM/camera again, after waiting hours. Can you make release version in F-Droid with logs.
I have 33.1.1 and I have thousands of images listed as "Ignored" (Ignoré) in the Upload (Téléversements) tab. Any idea why they are ignored and how to fix? I'd hate to lose these pictures.
I’ve created a PR with some changes. Could you please help me by downloading the latest generated QA APK, configuring just one local directory, and occasionally checking whether the files are being uploaded successfully?
If you notice that anything is not being uploaded, could you please share the logs here so we can take a look?
Check on server, likely they are uploaded. All auto uploads currently end up in Skip list. Its not fixed yet.
oh good point thanks, I checked too quickly (videos were listed last and I thought they were old photos) and indeed it seems that "ignored" photos are not really ignored… Seems like this can be improved though ^^

The issue is still present in the recent update. Some folders get uploaded perfectly fine tho not the camera roll.

slepkaviba commentedon Jan 27, 2026
It is even worse... Some files just upload as 0...
I get "server reported size 1.9 MB but size was 0" error...

34.0 is still highly unreliable - skipping most files and hogging the battery.

After couple of week so far no missing photos. But that's freshly installed app.
Successively auto uploaded photos still end up in skip list though.

@mss-hh Hello, could you also confirm?

Sorry for not responding for such a long time. The past months have been very busy for me. I can also confirm that auto upload is working fine.
