    I have the same issue. Files show as skipped, but they do exist on the server.

    Already tried removing the Nextcloud app from my smartphone (OnePlus 15), installing it again and reconfiguring it. But this didn't solve the issue.

    I have tried creating a new folder on my Nextcloud account the uploads, but this didn't solve the issue too.

    There are no errors in the server logs and no more information in the Nextcloud app.

    I am having this exact same issue as well. Images upload without issue, but they all show up under "skipped" afterwards.

    Hey

    Did you choose skip name collision policy? If name collision policy is SKIP and file already exists in the same remote directory those uploads will be skipped because they already uploaded before.

    @DebrodeD

    Yes, I chose the SKIP policy in my app as well. However, that should only cause a file to show up as "skipped" if it's already uploaded. My files (like those of the original poster), are being uploaded first correctly by the nextcloud app, and then showing up as skipped, almost as if it's uploading and then checking again to try and upload a second time, seeing that it's already there, then moving it to "skipped".

    My expectation is that a file will only ever be under "skipped" if the file is already present before Nextcloud ever uploads it. I'm only auto-uploading new photos though, so I should never have anything under "skipped", then should be under "completed" if anything.

    @xundeenergie

    I have the same.
    I choose the "skip" option on automatic upload for some good reason.

    I expect, that an image uploaded first time and succsessfully shound be listed as "done".
    On the next try, then it should be marked as "skipped".

    And the next bug i see is, i csn not delete this skipped-notifications.

    They disappear only, if i upload s file manually and it is uploaded successfully and notified as "done".
    When i remove the "done" notifications eith the "X" on the right side, the "skipped" notifications are gone as well...

    @xundeenergie Hey

    You choose Skip option and if upload already done before next attempt should mark the upload as skipped otherwise done for successful attempt.

    To fall in same scenario:

    1. Have same file uploaded same target remote dir
    2. Configure auto upload that contains same files for same target remote dir with "Skip" option

    This would be enough I guess?

    Edit

    Demo

    1. Auto upload configured for local "Pictures" directory to remote directory called "Rtt"
    2. All 49 files uploaded successfully via auto upload
    3. New auto upload configuration created for same local and remote path
    4. All 49 files marked as "Skipped" as expected and clear button worked
    Screen_recording_20260605_113038.mp4

    Am I missing something here to reproduce?

  8. demaniak commented on Jun 5, 2026

    @demaniak

    Same.
    Previously (like couple of months ago) "Skip" option worked as expected.
    Files auto uploaded,and were marked as such. in the actual rare case of a file existing, it was silently ignored (i.e. skipped).

    Sorry I cannot add anything useful but a "Happens to me as well". This started several weeks/months ago:
    Auto-Uploads complete successfully but the nextcloud app shows them immediately as "skipped" instead of "completed".
    Not sure if related but auto-upload sometimes shows the message that I do not have permissions to upload to a folder but the upload completes fine as well.

  10. demaniak commented on Jun 24, 2026

    @demaniak

    FWIW, I noticed some days ago that I can at least now remove the items that have been skipped.
    I have no idea what changed when - I know I did not upgrade the server. I don't THINK the app updated?

    @ppascher Not sure if related but auto-upload sometimes shows the message that I do not have permissions to upload to a folder but the upload completes fine as well. Could you please create a separate issue for this so we can track it independently from Auto upload works, but uploaded files are shown as skipped issue?

    Also I need to reproduce the issue. I shared above what I did and "Upload" screen showed and worked as expected. Marked those uploads as "Skipped" because same files exists on same remote directory and I choose the "Skip" policy.

    In which exact scenario are the files marked as Skipped even though they shouldn't be? @demaniak @ppascher

    @MystikReasons

    @alperozturk96 I can confirm this issue too on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with the latest Nextcloud Android version 34.0.1.

    I just took a test photo and a test video and both of them are listed unter "Skipped" but were uploaded to the Nextcloud Hub.

    I wasn't asked to "skip" the video and the photo.

    This is my configuration for the auto upload folder:

    @SvenLieber

    I have the same issue on a Pixel 8, Nextcloud Androind app version 34.0.1

    It's also a pity that there is not more info than the list. Once the "x" next to "skipped" is pressed there is no way to trace back anymore what effectively is on the Nextcloud and what not. Similarly for cancelled. I'd love to have a a phone gallery view that does some live checking if the images are on Nextcloud and showing a green/read icon. Just to be really really sure before deleting anything on the phone. I often notice gaps and have to bulk copy all content via rsync just to be sure. But this is just a remark out of the scope of this issue.

    Hello

    Once the QA APK generated could you please try?

    @MystikReasons

    Hi @alperozturk96

    I've tested the QA apk (deactivated the current auto upload folders in the production app and configured them in the testing app) and I can confirm that it works without problems now.

    I've tested a similar scenario as my original issue comment.
