Player controls and media title never disappear #17676

  • This is a bug, not a question or an enhancement.
  • I've searched for similar issues and didn't find a duplicate.
  • I've written a clear and descriptive title for this issue, not just "Bug" or "Crash".
  • I agree to follow Nextcloud's Code of Conduct.

Steps to reproduce

When playing videos via the new M3 player, the media controls and title/filename stay onscreen no matter what, blocking parts of the video. This is especially an issue in landscape orientation, where only a small portion of the middle of the viewing area isn't blocked by these.

Further notes: The controls did autohide with the previous media player but the title remaining visible was still an issue with the previous player as well. I just ignored it and figured it would get fixed eventually. Unfortunately, now the problem is worse.

For the record, I really like the new video player otherwise.

Screenshots of the issue along with annotations. Note the small rectangle of video that isn't covered in landscape orientation.

Expected behaviour

Controls and title to autohide when playing videos, which reappear when the screen is touched. This is the behavior most Android video apps use.

Actual behaviour

The controls and title are visible all the time, obscuring a large portion of the video.

    @MystikReasons

    I can confirm this behaviour. The controls never disappear (timely based or clicking the screen not working). This makes it very unpleasant to view videos in landscape mode.
