Changes now:

  1. Installation instructions from source now point to v2.4. Note that the git clone command will fail until the release tag exists.

TO-DO:

  • Build and push the three v2.4-* mages to solids4foam/solids4foam on Docker Hub.
  • Re-run the git clone command after PR #287 is merged and the v2.4 tag is created; any output confirms the tag is available.

FYI, @philipcardiff, please add any suggestions/comments if any other changes have to be added to the website.

This looks good and is ready to merge - I will wait to do this until after the v2.4 tag is made.

For the https://github.com/solids4foam/solids4foam/blob/development/src/solids4FoamModels/README.md link, we can later add this content to the website and link there.

Hi @philipcardiff, In 10757d0, I updated the source-installation guide to document PETSc’s MUMPS/HYPRE requirement and the S4F_ALLOW_INCOMPLETE_PETSC=1 fallback for package-managed PETSc installations that lack them. The guide now makes clear that the fallback permits compilation but may leave some PETSc tutorials and solver configurations unusable.

I encountered this PETSc configuration error while building solids4foam locally, which showed that the current source-installation guide does not explain the MUMPS/HYPRE requirement or the available fallback. I therefore added focused documentation so other users can diagnose and resolve the same issue more easily.

Good idea - thanks.
