- Move the XSLT engine sources next to the xml-sec sources so the published package can compile them for the XMLDSig XSLT transform; the standalone crate keeps building them through lib.path - Split every inline test module into sibling tests files
- Add the non-default `xslt` feature, which compiles src/xslt as a private module next to the embedded XPath and XML input sources - Engine modules address each other relative to the engine root and alias the shared XPath, DOM and XML input sources when embedded - Accounted XPath strings, which only the embedded build defines, are copied through the engine's owned-memory meter
- TransformResult carries ExecutionUsage with every execution counter, equal to the amount its budget admitted, so a caller can share one allowance across several executions of an operation
- Transform::Xslt (xslt feature) parses the stylesheet markup of a <Transform>, compiles it, applies it to the octets of its input (node-set input through implicit inclusive C14N 1.0) and passes the serialized result on; terminal output is the digest input - The stylesheet is the source text of the <Transform> content, as libxmlsec1 dumps it, so inherited namespace declarations are not copied into literal result elements - Every execution in an operation shares one XSLT allowance from the new ResourcePolicy limits max_xslt_work, max_xslt_workspace_bytes, max_xslt_output_bytes and max_xslt_recursion_depth; parsing uses the existing XML document, node, depth and parse-work limits; accounted operations reserve the workspace from their memory account - Stylesheets resolve no external resources; a DOCTYPE in binary input follows the operation's internal DTD policy - Signing templates emit and digest XsltStylesheet markup unchanged - Fix: an octet-consuming transform after Enveloped no longer reports a dependency cycle through the excluded SignatureValue; it now keeps only the dependencies visible to its implicit C14N, as explicit C14N does (also affected Enveloped -> Base64 references) - Transform is #[non_exhaustive] BREAKING CHANGE: Transform is #[non_exhaustive] and ResourcePolicy has four new fields.
- Resolve the decode_xml_bounded and compute_digest links - Wrap bare specification URLs so rustdoc renders them as links; the embedded XSLT sources now share the xml-sec documentation build
- xml-sec-cli gains an xslt feature; check-transforms and list-transforms report "xslt" only when it is built - The capability ledger classifies xmlSecHrefXslt as a feature-gated, policy-permitted capability backed by an executing evidence test - Public-API tests cover node-set, Base64 and chained XSLT input, XSLT output reparsed by XPath, the operation-wide output allowance, work and workspace limits, policy denial, external resources, invalid stylesheets, DTD input, verification failures and scoped replay within the current query's memory account - Reciprocal xmlsec1 1.3.13 tests sign and verify XSLT references in both directions - CI runs tests and clippy with the xslt feature - Document the transform, its limits and the feature
XSLT 1.0 section 7.1.1 makes an unbound prefix in exclude-result-prefixes or extension-element-prefixes a static error; libxslt reports it as a warning and skips only that prefix. Signatures produced by libxmlsec1 over such stylesheets (Merlin xmldsig-23 #notaries) could not be verified under the strict reading. - Add TransformPolicy::xslt_prefix_list_semantics with Specification (default) and Libxslt; the engine gains Compiler::unbound_prefix_lists - Thread the setting through signing, verification and CipherReference transform execution - The XmlSecCompatible profile and the native CLI select Libxslt for both directions; other profiles keep the specification reading, and layers cannot change a base's choice - xml-sec-config parses and reports the setting - Escape a rustdoc link in the XML encoding-name helper Merlin xmldsig-23 now verifies #notaries under the compatible policy and still refuses it under the default one. construct the mapped execution error before exhausting the shared allowance, so
the error retains pre-failure totals while later transforms cannot reuse the
budget; keep allowance.admit for successful executions. Add a regression test
with two Manifest references where the first XSLT execution hits the work limit
and the second is refused.

- structured-asn1, structured-pkix, structured-cms and structured-xades 0.7.0 share one incremental digest contract - VerifiedSession::begin_digest starts a policy-checked digest of the operation's provider; SessionDigest charges each chunk before the provider absorbs it and checks the output width on finish. It replaces the one-shot digest_in - xml-sec-xades implements the shared Digest contract over it, with the finished certificate digest held inline
- A failed execution now debits the work it admitted: the engine reports usage whether an execution succeeds or fails (Stylesheet:: execute_reported), so a Manifest that keeps verifying after a failing reference cannot spend the operation-wide allowance again - Compilation, the parsed input tree and execution share one workspace; the engine's bounded parser charges the tree it builds (ParseBudget:: with_owned_bytes) and refuses growth beyond it before allocating - Every parser pass over the stylesheet and the input is charged to the shared parse-work allowance (CompileBudget/ParseBudget:: with_parse_work_bytes, reported for failed passes as well) - Stylesheet and input text pass the operation's lexical XML preflight, so node, depth and namespace-binding limits apply to them - Transform octets are checked against the XML document limit before decoding, on every binary-to-XML path - Accounted output is copied while its own reservation covers it - TransformPolicy::xslt_stylesheet_semantics replaces the prefix-list switch: Specification (default) binds prefixes the stylesheet refers to from the declarations in scope at its Transform, Libxmlsec1 compiles the Transform content alone and skips unbound prefix-list entries as libxmlsec1 and libxslt do; the compatible profile and the CLI select it Regression tests cover each refusal through the shared transform budget and fail on the previous adapter. - A parsed stylesheet is serialized from the document tree, so entity and character references are already replaced and it compiles without the document's DTD (XML 1.0 section 4.4); each element keeps the namespace declarations written on it - Specification semantics now gives the stylesheet element every namespace in scope at its Transform (Namespaces in XML section 6.1), which literal result elements copy (XSLT 1.0 section 7.1.1); this also binds prefixes used after an XPath axis or through a character reference. The Phaos corpus, signed the libxmlsec1 way, verifies under Libxmlsec1 semantics - XSLT workspace refusals report what earlier stages hold plus the refused stage's amount, so the total exceeds the limit it names - The engine parser charges any capacity the allocator grants beyond an exact reservation - CI and the benchmark workflow install libxslt development files, and the xmlsec1 installer refuses an oracle built without the XSLT transform, which made the XSLT oracle tests fail on Linux Regression tests: entity in a stylesheet, workspace totals, parsed-tree serialization, Phaos under both semantics, installer refusal without XSLT. Part of #247
- ExecutionEnvironment::with_work_ceiling bounds every kind of execution work together, on top of each kind's own limit; a charge that would cross it is refused with BudgetKind::AggregateWork before the work runs - BudgetKind::is_execution_work names the kinds the ceiling covers A caller whose own account admits less aggregate work than the per-kind limits grant passes that remainder, so an execution cannot do work the caller cannot pay for. Part of #247
- structured-asn1, structured-pkix, structured-cms and structured-xades 0.8.0; the long-term-validation types moved to structured-ltv 0.8.0 - xml-sec-xades checks certificate paths through structured_ltv::pki::check_path
When a reference is replayed inside a query, the stylesheet compilation, the input parse and the execution ran to the policy's limits before the query's work account was charged once afterwards. A query with almost no work left could therefore make the engine do the whole policy allowance before it was refused, and parser work was never charged to the query. - each parser pass is offered the smaller of the operation's parse-work remainder and the query's remaining work, and what it did is charged to both; a refusal comes from whichever of the two set the limit - the execution runs under a work ceiling equal to the query's remainder and is refused with the query's own work error when it would cross it - structured-asn1 0.8.1 provides the remaining-work query Regression test: a query with a hundred units left for execution now stops the engine near that remainder instead of after the full run, and one with too little for parsing is refused before execution starts.

- a <Transform> whose stylesheet has element or text siblings is refused when parsed (XMLDSig 1.1 section 6.6.5), instead of compiling the first element and dropping the rest - under the specification semantics the nearest ancestor's xml:space="preserve" is carried onto the stylesheet element, so its whitespace-only text is kept (XSLT 1.0 section 3.4) - the signature builder writes a parsed stylesheet with what it inherited in its original document and with references replaced, so the new signature has no unbound prefix or undefined entity - inside a query, the input is decoded before the XSLT workspace is reserved, so the workspace takes what decoding leaves rather than starving it; the adapter's lexical passes are paid by the query before they run; a stylesheet serialized from its tree is written into the workspace and refused before its allocation would exceed it Regression tests cover each case: sibling content is refused, inherited xml:space keeps the whitespace, a parsed stylesheet signs in another document, UTF-16 input decodes in a query no larger than the workspace, an unpaid scan is refused before it runs, and serialization stops at the workspace limit.

- the transform parameter must be an xsl:stylesheet or xsl:transform element (XMLDSig 1.1 section 6.6.5 names the XSLT namespace-qualified stylesheet element); a literal result element used as a simplified stylesheet is refused by XsltStylesheet::new and when parsing - the signature builder checks each stylesheet against the document limit before copying it into the template, instead of after the whole template was written - bounded stylesheet serialization refuses capacity an allocator grants beyond the limit, so what it holds never exceeds the workspace Regression tests: a simplified stylesheet is refused in both places, and an oversized stylesheet is refused with its own size rather than the template's. The allocator over-grant case has no test: the standard allocator grants exactly what try_reserve_exact requests.
