WalkthroughTop-level duplicated documents now receive a trailing “(copy)” marker. Empty titles use “Untitled document (copy),” and long titles are truncated to retain the marker within the title limit. Descendant titles remain unchanged. Backend and end-to-end tests cover these title rules, and the changelog records the change. Hi,
Thank you for your contribution.
I noticed one thing to fix; it was already present before your modification.

There is a constraint on the model, the title max length is 255.
We didn't check it before.
We should do it here I think and if the new title length is higher than 255 we should fallback to the original title without the suffix.

We prefer an other behavior.
We would like to truncate the title and add (copy) at the end.
Exemple:
Title to long to keep -> Title to long t... (copy)
Thank you

Fixed in 0f36db7: if adding " (copy)" would push the title past 255 characters, the original title now gets cut with "..." so the copy marker still fits, like Title to long t... (copy). I also added a few tests around the 255-character boundary.

Can you rebase your branch to trigger the CI to chack if e2e tests have to be updated ? |

Duplicating a document prefixed "Copy of" to the title of every duplicated document, descendants included. The prefix pushed a leading emoji, used as the document icon, out of first position, and cluttered the whole subtree. Only the top duplicate is now marked, with " (copy)" at the end of its title; descendants keep their title untouched. Signed-off-by: DevKaurav-14 <devkaurav2025@gmail.com>

The title of a document is limited to 255 characters, but marking the top duplicate as a copy appended " (copy)" to its title without checking this limit, so duplicating a document with a long title could exceed it. The original title is now truncated, with an ellipsis, so that the title of the copy fits within the limit and keeps its copy marker. Signed-off-by: DevKaurav-14 <devkaurav2025@gmail.com>

@lunika I rebased onto main as requested, but the CI workflows are waiting for maintainer approval (first-time contributor from a fork). Could you approve the run so the e2e tests can execute? |
Purpose
Closes #2850
Duplicating a document renamed it to "Copy of <title>", and did the same to
every one of its descendants. This had two drawbacks:
since the emoji was no longer first ("Copy of 🚀 Roadmap");
subtree, cluttering the copied tree although only its top is a new document
from the user's point of view.
Proposal
title, so that a leading emoji stays first: "🚀 Roadmap (copy)"
included
titles and for the descendants
Note: the translatable string changes from
copy of {title}to{title} (copy)andUntitled document (copy), so the existing translationswill need to be redone on Crowdin.
