No audio output when i press "play test tone"

Observed behavior

During the "Media preflight" step, no audio is heard when attempting to play the short test tone under the "Output" section. Clicking the "Play it again" button yields no sound.

Expected behavior

A short test tone should play normally through the system's default audio output, allowing the user to confirm the audio works and proceed by clicking the "Start interview" button.

Reproduction

1. Go to the "Media preflight" page before starting an interview.
2. Locate the "Output" section.
3. Click the "Play it again" button.
4. Observe that no sound is played and you cannot proceed.

#44 reports the same silent test tone on Windows, and narrowed it to Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a Realtek audio driver, while Brave, Opera and Vivaldi played it. Nothing on the tone path has changed since. Please add three things: the browser and version, the audio device or driver, and the revision from codetrial --version. If it is Chrome, Edge or Firefox on Realtek, this is #44 and will be closed into it with your details carried over. If another browser or driver fails too, that widens #44 and this report stays as that evidence.
