### Keep a cloud workspace between turns

First-run setup creates an **ephemeral** sandbox connection.
That connection deletes its environment after one turn.

For retained execution on public Braid 0.3.3, use `/quit` after applying setup, before sending a task.
Edit the selected sandbox connection's `providerOptions` in `.braid/config.json`:

```json
{
"lifecycle": "retained",
"idleTtlSeconds": 1800
}
```

This is the `providerOptions` value, not a replacement for the whole configuration file.
Preserve the connection's other fields.
Restart Braid with `braid` before sending your first task; configuration file edits are loaded at startup.
Setup defaults to an **ephemeral** sandbox connection, which deletes its environment after one turn.
To keep the workspace between turns, select **Tangle Sandbox** and open the **files · lifetime** page with Ctrl+L.
Choose **retained**, then enter the idle timeout in seconds, such as `1800`.
Review the workspace source, lifetime, and masked credential before applying the selection.
You can reopen Setup to inspect or change these values before sending a task.
Retained execution requires provider support and is subject to the configured idle timeout and account limits.

During a retained run, `/detach` leaves the run with its provider.

# Braid 0.3.4 release notes

## Cloud setup

- Set a cloud workspace's repository, Git ref, starting directory, and file lifetime in Setup.
Choose retained files and an idle timeout before the first task when you need to reconnect later.
- Reopen Setup to inspect or edit saved workspace choices.
A successful credential save is shown as saved and hidden; a pending or failed save is never shown as complete.
- Open Setup from the run switcher.
Setup saves the selection without starting a task.

## Runs and conversations

- Run controls and RPC requests keep their selected target when the active conversation changes.
- The fork preview makes the source and destination clearer before a fork.
- Packed RPC proof now waits for its writes and process exit before checking results.

## Upgrade

```bash
npm install --global @tangle-network/braid@0.3.4
```

Cloud execution still requires a Tangle account, available credit, and a supported profile.
The setup proof for this release confirms save, reopen, encrypted reload, and authenticated preflight.
It does not claim that a task completed in a live cloud sandbox.
