What is MindForge?

MindForge is a production-grade lifelong memory system for AI agents written in Python. It provides:

  • Local-first, zero-cloud memory with AES-256-GCM encryption
  • 4-tier memory architecture based on the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve
  • 6-way hybrid retrieval (MRR@10=0.85)
  • Federated P2P memory sync
  • Built-in knowledge graph
  • MCP Server (33 tools) + CLI (200+ commands) + REST API + Python SDK

Why it belongs in this list

MindForge is a Python library/tool that directly serves the AI agent ecosystem. It fits in the Data Layer subsection alongside mem0 and llama-index, as a dedicated memory layer for production AI agents.

MIT licensed, actively developed, and designed for self-hosted/deployment.

@opok-ops Thanks for your submission. Data Layer already has five entries, and this PR provides no displacement argument. The diff also introduces unrelated character-encoding corruption.
