Type

  • Audit
  • Explainer
  • Bug fix
  • Other

Audit checklist

N/A — this is a repository tooling change, not an audit.

  • I opened or linked a corresponding issue first — N/A
  • The folder is named after the domain, not the dataset — N/A
  • unfair.py includes protected attributes and prints the required output format — N/A
  • fair.py removes protected attributes and identified proxy variables — N/A
  • Both scripts use random_state=42 and an 80/20 train/test split — N/A
  • Proxy variables were actually tested, not just guessed — N/A
  • unfair.png and fair.png are included as PNG screenshots — N/A
  • The dataset is public and accessible without login or payment — N/A
  • The dataset file is included, or DATA.md is included if the file is too large — N/A
  • README.md includes the new results row and audit section — N/A
  • A notebook was added if the audit benefits from one — N/A

Before fairness gap: N/A

After fairness gap: N/A

Reduction: N/A

Protected attribute(s): N/A

Proxy variables dropped: N/A

Explainer checklist

N/A — this change does not add an explainer.

  • The file is in explainers/ and uses lowercase hyphenated naming — N/A
  • It includes a plain-language definition — N/A
  • It uses a real example from this repo or a documented real-world case — N/A
  • It includes runnable Python detection or measurement code — N/A
  • It acknowledges limitations or trade-offs — N/A
  • It links to related explainers or repo projects — N/A
  • It includes 2-3 primary sources — N/A
  • The Explainers table in README.md was updated — N/A

Linked issue

Closes #1202

Verification

  • focused traction tests: 27 passed
  • make test-fast: 1,202 passed, 33 skipped, 27 deselected
  • make lint and git diff --check: passed
  • --live currently reports the snapshot value 7 versus live count 17; W44 is still in progress, so the weekly value can change before the week is complete
  • slow tests and hosted CI were not run
