Bump: @astrojs/starlight 0.38.4 → 0.42.8 (4 minors, pre-1.0 → breaking; direct dependency)

Changes: 0.39 autogenerate groups must be wrapped in items · 0.41 drops Astro 6 (requires Astro 7) · 0.42 requires astro ≥ 7.2.10, removes the tagline option, new mobile-menu markup · 0.41.2 changes content/TOC widths when a custom --sl-content-width is set · 0.42.5–0.42.8: bug fixes only (icon overflow: visible, per-page component CSS, TOC layout-shift fix)

Usage in repo: astro.config.mjs (sidebar with 4 autogenerate groups, tagline), content.config.ts, Tabs/Card/LinkCard in MDX, custom.css (--sl-content-width: 55rem), Mermaid plugin (remark)

Impact: npm ci/npm install fail with ERESOLVE (peer astro@^7.2.10, repo is on 6.3.1). With --legacy-peer-deps, the build fails on autogenerate and Unrecognized key: "tagline".

Fix: astro ^7.4.5, @astrojs/react ^7.1.2, + @astrojs/markdown-remark ^7.3.5 with markdown.processor: unified() (otherwise Mermaid silently renders as a code block), compressHTML: true (keeps Astro 6 whitespace), overrides for the Mermaid plugin's peer dependency, sidebar items: [{ autogenerate }], tagline removed, 2 CSS rules restoring the old content/TOC widths.

Verified (main vs main+bump+patch):

• npm ci ✅ · npm install leaves lockfile unchanged ✅ · astro check 0/0/0 ✅ · build ✅ (48 pages, same files, identical sitemap, dist 9480 → 9452 kB) · links ✅ (same 2 pre-existing 404s) · npm audit 30 → 17 (critical in astro gone)
• Layout fingerprint (position, size, color, font of every element) identical on 9 pages at 375/1100/1280/1400/1600 px, dark and light themes. Mermaid, Swagger, Tabs (sync), search, theme switch, mobile menu, copy buttons, hover/focus, 404 and console all behave the same.

Notes: This is effectively an Astro 6 → 7 migration. The Mermaid plugin (@pasqal-io/starlight-client-mermaid 0.1.0, no release since 2025-02) runs on Astro 7 only through an overrides entry.
