Review comments at @apps/mobile/src/ui/chat/conversation-screen.tsx:
- Around line 260-264: Move the `speakers.setGroups(groups)` call out of the
`groupOf` useMemo callback so rendering does not write to a SharedValue. Memoize
`messageGroups(chronological)` separately, synchronize the registry in a
`useLayoutEffect` after commit, and derive `groupOf` from the memoized groups.
Review comments at @apps/mobile/src/ui/chat/speaker-row.tsx:
- Line 52: Update the grouping loop that builds `groups` to accumulate each
`row.key` in place: create an array for a group the first time it appears, then
push subsequent keys into that array instead of copying it on every row.
- Around line 55-58: Update the speaker registry’s setGroups flow to retain
layout entries only for live row keys and span entries only for active groups,
then refresh the active groups. When building registry rows from messageGroups,
include draft keys from snapshot.drafts as well, so live drafts remain
registered and removed drafts are pruned.
- Around line 131-174: Add a shared viewport-layout revision to the speaker
stage and increment it from the viewport’s onLayout handler in the conversation
screen. In StickyAvatar, read that revision in useAnimatedStyle and include it
in the settled check so a later viewport layout re-evaluates measurement
availability.

Requested by Vain · project thread
Why
In a mobile group Channel only a Bot's name sat above its messages, so it was hard to tell who was speaking. Vain asked for Slack-style rows with the sender's avatar. The avatar should stick to the bubble while scrolling, like the Web Client. Its bottom edge should sit level with the bubble's bottom edge, never with the reaction row, and it should be a rounded square.
Change outline
Before: in a group Channel, each Bot's group of bubbles had only the Bot's name above it (screenshot from #1880).``
After: this follows the Web Client (

Scrolled into history: Ada's avatar rides the bottom edge beside her long bubble, while the older 小明 bubbles keep theirs at their bottoms:

The screenshots are the React Native Web render (390 × 844) of an isolated Host with two Bots (小明, Ada) in a group. The app is paired through the device gateway, on latest main (including #1889's floating composer), and scrolled with the mouse wheel.
speaker-row.tsx(new):SpeakerRowlays out the avatar column, the name and the bubble. The reaction and delivery rows render under the bubble, outside the measured bubble view.StickyAvataris an absolutely positionedAnimated.View. ItstranslateYcomes from auseAnimatedStyleworklet, which runs on the UI thread on every scroll frame (useScrollOffseton the nowAnimated.FlatList). The workletmeasures the avatar column, its bubble and the list viewport. It rests the avatar atbubble bottom − 32and lifts it byspeakerLift(inspeaker-span.ts), up to the group's first bubble.createSpeakerRegistrykeeps each group's span as a shared value, fed byonLayout. The span is the heights of the rows above the last one, minus the first bubble's top.bot-avatar.tsx:BotAvatartakes an optionalcornerradius for the rounded square.message-groups.ts:messageGroups(rows)keys each message row by its group's first message.message-bubble.tsx:speakeris now{ name, bot, group, first, last }, and the avatar moved from the first bubble to the last.DESIGN.mddescribes the row and the sticky behaviour.Checks

measurereturning on-screen frames inside the inverted list. That holds on web. The native check is queued for the next Simulator batch: scroll a long group Bot message on iOS and Android and watch the avatar ride the bottom edge.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
