fix(web): shortcuts survive the key-less autofill keydown; extension errors stay out of error tracking - #1971
Autofill keydown. Chrome fires a keydown with no key when it autofills a form. The time range picker hotkey (isOpenKey) and the shell's global shortcuts called event.key.toLowerCase() on every document keydown, so autofilling a sign-in form threw. Both now read the key through pressedKey (@maple/ui/lib/keyboard), which returns "" when the key is missing.
Error noise in @maple-dev/effect-sdk. The browser client's global handlers now drop errors whose script or top stack frame is a browser extension, plus the benign ResizeObserver loop notices. @maple/browser already filtered both, but the effect SDK (which maple-web uses) did not. Ships as a patch changeset.
Verification
vitest: new error-noise.test.ts (uses the real MetaMask stack from prd; an app frame on top with an extension frame further down is kept). flushable.test.ts and time-range-picker.scene.test.ts pass, including a new key-less keydown case.
tsrs --noEmit for apps/web, packages/ui, packages/effect-sdk. oxlint on the touched files.

Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Browser error reporting now filters out errors and rejections originating from browser extensions, as well as benign ResizeObserver loop notices, while continuing to report app-originated errors and rejections.
Keyboard shortcuts handle key events without a key value more reliably, preventing them from being mistaken for the “D” shortcut.
…errors stay out of error tracking
Chrome fires a keydown with no `key` when it autofills a form. The time range picker hotkey and
the shell's global shortcuts called `event.key.toLowerCase()` on every document keydown, so
autofilling the sign-in, sign-up or org-required form threw an uncaught TypeError (5 in prd since
10-22). Both read the key through `pressedKey`, which is "" when it is missing.
The effect SDK's browser client now drops what `@maple/browser` already drops: errors from a
browser extension's script (e.g. a wallet extension's rejected connect) and the benign
ResizeObserver loop notices, which made up most of maple-web's uncaught errors.
🟢 Confidence 10/10 · safe to merge
Both crashes are pinned by tests; only the hand-copied noise filter, which now has to track @maple/sdk-core, holds it below 10. 1 note · tests covered · risk low
Routes the two document keydown hotkeys through pressedKey so Chrome's key-less autofill event stops throwing, and has the effect SDK drop extension and ResizeObserver loop noise. This fixes both open issues it was opened for; safe to merge.
isOpenKey and globalShortcuts read pressedKey, so a key-less keydown no longer calls toLowerCase on undefined
error-noise drops extension-script errors, extension top frames and ResizeObserver loop notices in the effect SDK's global handlers
Findings
🔵 Note · F1 · Noise filter re-implements @maple/sdk-core's makeErrorFilter
@maple/sdk-core — the package documented as shared by @maple-dev/browser and @maple-dev/effect-sdk — already holds these exact two patterns plus a positional stack parser (packages/sdk-core/src/error-filters.ts:40), and @maple/browser gets them from there. This second copy has to be kept in sync by hand and has no equivalent of the defaultFilters: false opt-out the browser SDK honours (packages/browser/src/error-filters.ts:6), so the two SDKs' notion of "noise" and their configurability diverge from here.
Add `@maple/sdk-core` as a workspace devDependency (bundled by tsdown, as `packages/browser/package.json` does) and call `makeErrorFilter()`'s default filters instead of a second copy of the patterns and the parser.

Noise filter re-implements `@maple/sdk-core`'s `makeErrorFilter`
`@maple/sdk-core` — the package documented as shared by `@maple-dev/browser` and `@maple-dev/effect-sdk` — already holds these exact two patterns plus a positional stack parser (`packages/sdk-core/src/error-filters.ts:40`), and `@maple/browser` gets them from there. This second copy has to be kept in sync by hand and has no equivalent of the `defaultFilters: false` opt-out the browser SDK honours (`packages/browser/src/error-filters.ts:6`), so the two SDKs' notion of "noise" and their configurability diverge from here.
Suggested fix: Add `@maple/sdk-core` as a workspace devDependency (bundled by tsdown, as `packages/browser/package.json` does) and call `makeErrorFilter()`'s default filters instead of a second copy of the patterns and the parser.

What was checked
Confirmed the ResizeObserver browser.uncaught_error issue comes from flushable.ts and is dropped by the new message regex
Other document keydown handlers compare event.key without string methods, so they cannot throw on a key-less event
The filter keeps an app error whose top frame is the app with an extension frame below it (error-noise.test.ts:36)

The SDK filters specified browser noise from captured errors and unhandled rejections. A shared keyboard helper handles events with no key, and the time-range picker and global shortcuts use it.
Adds matching for ResizeObserver loop messages and extension-originated errors. Tests cover matching errors and cases that remain non-noise. Updates the development dependency and declaration-emission configuration.
Window error and unhandled rejection capture now skip errors classified as browser noise. Tests cover the capture behavior. Adds a patch changeset for @maple-dev/effect-sdk.
Adds pressedKey, which returns an empty string when the event key is absent. The time-range picker and global shortcuts use the helper. The picker test checks that a keydown event without a key does not open it.
App errors containing extension stack traces in their messages can be omitted from error tracking. This narrow risk should be addressed or explicitly accepted.

Both keydown handlers now read the key through pressedKey, so the guardless toLowerCase no longer throws on Chrome's key-less autofill keydown; the effect SDK's global handlers apply @maple/sdk-core's default filters. The time-range-picker.js TypeError is fixed here, and the flushable.jsError is the ResizeObserver notice these filters drop. Safe to merge.

Hotkey handlers now read the key through pressedKey, and the effect SDK's global handlers drop extension and ResizeObserver noise. It addresses both open issues: the 9 browser.uncaught_error "ResizeObserver loop" spans on flushable.js and the toLowerCase TypeError in time-range-picker.js (the only two .toLowerCase() call sites are both changed). The foldkit.crash schema-validation issues are untouched by this diff. Safe to merge.

Filter reuses makeErrorFilter's default patterns, matching only the message and the top frame URL (sdk-core/src/error-filters.ts:101-119)
No .key.toLowerCase() call site remains under apps/web or packages/ui at the head

Assert the captured event identities, not only span names.
flushable.test.ts:435-446 dispatches extension and app events, but only checks the two span names. A regression that captures "boom" or the MetaMask rejection instead of "app bug" or "app rejection" can pass this test. Decode the captured exception events and assert the app payloads, while asserting that the extension payloads are absent.
