MM-71102 - notify js on network changes and resend session attributes - #176
When the device switches networks (for example Wi-Fi to cellular, one Wi-Fi to another, or a VPN turning on or off), the library now notices it natively and does two things:
Resets the network session attributes (client_ip_address, network_interface_type, ssid, vpn_active) for every server that has session attributes enabled. The next request sends the new values right away instead of waiting for their TTL to run out.
Emits a new JS event, ApiClient-SessionAttributesNetworkChanged, with the list of affected server URLs. The event carries no network values. The app can listen to it through the new addSessionAttributesNetworkChangeListener.
How it flows:
OS network callback → wait ~1s for things to settle → compare with the last network seen → if it changed: reset network attributes → emit event with the server URLs
Details:
iOS uses the existing NWPathMonitor. Android uses ConnectivityManager.NetworkCallback.
The first network reading is only a starting point and doesn't emit anything. A moment with no network at all is ignored.
A request that is already in flight when the network changes can no longer mark the old values as "sent".
Nothing is logged about the network values themselves.
Android fix: events were silently dropped when native code outside React (e.g. push notification handling) created its own module instance with a plain Context, replacing the shared one. The React context is now kept separately, so this new event and the existing ones (upload progress, client errors) reach JS reliably.
Kotlin unit tests for change detection, attribute reset and the in-flight request guard (test-runner)
Jest test for the new JS listener
Checked end to end in mattermost-mobile on an Android emulator: switching Wi-Fi off and on fires the event once per change and the app updates permissions. Also covered by a new Detox spec in the mobile PR.
iOS: built and ran in the mobile app on the simulator. A real network switch still needs a check on a device.

Walkthrough
Android and iOS now detect network changes and reset send timestamps for network-derived session attributes. Native event bridges report affected server URLs, and the JavaScript API provides a listener for those events.
Changes: Session attribute network updates

Both platform stores track network generations and clear send timestamps for network-derived fields. Outbound-header collection passes the captured generation and sent field names to the store. Tests cover resets and stale-generation handling.

Android and iOS compare network snapshots after debounced evaluation. When an accepted snapshot changes, the engine resets network-field timestamps. Tests cover snapshot baselines and change detection.
The native bridges send the network-change event with affected server URLs. The JavaScript API exposes a listener, and its test checks event registration and URL delivery.

Explanation
The title names the ticket and two changes: native network-change notification to JavaScript, and resending session attributes after a network change. The changeset adds a SESSION_ATTRIBUTES_NETWORK_CHANGED event on Android, iOS and JavaScript, a network monitor and change detector, and resets of network-related session attribute fields so they are sent again. The title therefore matches the main change, though it does not mention the in-flight request guard or the Android context handling change.

Register persisted servers when loading enabled state.
If getOutboundHeader loads an enabled persisted state before JavaScript calls setEnabled or setManifest, the server is not added to enabledServers. A later network change then skips that server, so its network attributes are not reset and its URL is absent from the event.

Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Start monitoring for restored server state.
After a process restart, getOutboundHeader can restore an enabled manifest through loadState without calling updateNetworkMonitor. If the host relies on that persisted state instead of setting the manifest again, network changes do not reset the fields or emit events. Start the monitor when an enabled manifest is restored. @pvev all of this happens only when the configuration for the network client has the session attributes enabled correct ?
@enahum Yes, the values only get reset, and the event only sent, for servers that use session attributes. Your comment made me spot that Android was watching the network for everyone, so I fixed it to only do that while a server uses them.

Capture the initial network baseline synchronously.
77-81: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Capture the initial network baseline synchronously.
setNetworkUpdateHandler queues the initial handler() call. An enabled request can therefore record network A before that call runs. If the first evaluation then observes network B, SessionAttributesEngine stores B as the baseline, skips resetNetworkFields(), and emits no JavaScript event. Subsequent requests can continue using the send state recorded for A.
Capture the baseline before returning from handler registration:

Reset all persisted enabled servers after a network change.
165-175: Minor · Data Integrity & Integration · Quick win
Reset all persisted enabled servers after a network change.
When another cached server keeps the Android monitor active, an enabled server restored from disk can remain outside stateCache. resetNetworkFields() then leaves that server's network-field timestamps unchanged and omits its URL from the change event. A later request can restore those timestamps and omit network fields whose TTL has not expired. Make resetNetworkFields() load every persisted enabled server before it clears timestamps and builds the event URL list.

Synchronize the baseline with sent attributes.
If a request sends network A before this runnable executes, and the device switches to network B first, the detector records B as the baseline. The later evaluation sees no change, so A’s sent timestamps remain valid until their TTL expires and no event is emitted. The request path can run independently of this handler. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Clear the network send state and advance its generation when the baseline is established, or otherwise synchronize baseline capture with requests.
