Record only reciprocal periodic pairs.

Surface.boundary_type does not clear _periodic_surface. After xmax changes to vacuum and xmin.periodic_surface is set to an external plane, xmax.periodic_surface still points to xmin.

_periodic_pairs() records this one-way link. A later translate() or rotate() restores it through the reciprocal setter and replaces xmin's external partner. Zero-vector translation can also modify the original component planes because plane translation returns self.

Review comment at @openmc/model/surface_composite.py around lines 29 - 30:
Update _periodic_pairs() to record a pair only when the partner belongs to
components and its periodic_surface points back to the current component
surface. This excludes stale one-way links so translate() and rotate() do not
restore them or replace an external partner.

Accept axis-aligned planes as periodic partners.

PlaneMixin.periodic_surface accepts only Plane, but XPlane is not a Plane subclass. This assignment therefore raises TypeError. The constructor, the boundary-type setter, and both new tests fail. Update the partner type check to accept all planar surface types. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the periodic partner type check in PlaneMixin.periodic_surface to accept
all planar surface types, including axis-aligned plane classes such as XPlane,
while retaining rejection of non-planar surfaces.
