Welcome to the GyroidVault Wiki!

Hi! Thanks for checking out GyroidVault. I built this tool because I was tired of slow, clunky cloud services and bloated interfaces to manage my 3D printing models. I wanted something fast, self-hosted, and designed specifically for how makers actually work with 3D printers and slicers.

GyroidVault runs directly on your own home server or NAS right alongside your CAD files. It gives you a calm, visual workspace to organize your collection, inspect STL, 3MF, and STEP assemblies in 3D with physical millimeter dimensions, and push files straight to your slicers or Klipper printers with a single click.

  • Local First & Private: No forced cloud accounts, no subscriptions, no external telemetry. Your models and print metadata stay strictly on your own hardware.
  • Scale Without Bottlenecks: Engineered to comfortably handle 2TB+ collections, 20,000+ models, and 180,000+ files with sub-80ms paginated SQLite queries and asynchronous background indexing.
  • Makers-First Workflow: Slicer deep links (OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Creality Print, PrusaSlicer, Elegoo Slicer, Cura), Klipper/Moonraker 1-click uploads, physical mm bounding boxes, and multi-part assembly on a virtual build plate.
  • Customizable Workspace: Tailor your interface with 6 visual themes, 6 accent colors, and modular feature toggles to show only the tools you need.

What's New in GyroidVault v2.3

  1. Customizable UI Themes & Accent Colors: New dedicated User Interface tab in Settings with 6 visual themes (Dark Glass, Slate, Midnight, Light, OLED High Contrast, Cyberpunk) and 6 vibrant accent colors with instant live switching.
  2. Granular Module Toggles & Default Landing Page: Simplify your sidebar and model cards. Easily hide categories, collections, tags, favorites, folder explorer, statistics, format pills, print history, or printers if you don't use them. Set your default landing page to All Models, Browse, or Collections.
  3. OpenID Connect (OIDC) Single Sign-On: Native SSO support for Authentik, Keycloak, Authelia, and Okta with auto-provisioning and configurable role claim mapping.
  4. Library Scan Modes (Folder Mode vs. File Mode): Choose between grouping subfolders into unified multi-part models (assemblies) or indexing standalone 3D files with automatic companion image/gcode pairing.
  5. Spin-Down Friendly Disk Sync (NAS / Unraid): Configurable background disk sync interval (auto_sync_interval), or set to 0 to completely disable periodic disk wakeups for sleeping hard drives.
  6. Creality Print Slicer Integration: Direct 1-click slicing protocol support (crealityprint://) alongside OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Elegoo Slicer, and Cura.
  7. Model & Folder Name Tooltips: Hovering over truncated model or folder names now displays their full title instantly.
  8. 1-Click SQLite & Thumbnail Backup: Instant single-click .zip archive download of your database and custom thumbnails for secure offsite backup.
