Slicer Integration

GyroidVault provides seamless desktop slicer integration. Instead of manually downloading STL/3MF/STEP files, opening your slicer application, and navigating file pickers, you can launch models directly into your slicing environment with 1 click.
GyroidVault utilizes desktop URI protocol schemes registered by your slicing software during installation. When you click an Open in Slicer button, your browser dispatches an OS-level signal telling the slicer to fetch the file directly from GyroidVault's HTTP endpoint—including files stored inside .zip archives.

- Open Settings → General (or select from your user profile / slicer dropdown on any model detail page).
- Choose your Default Slicer (OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Creality Print, Elegoo Slicer, Cura, or PrusaSlicer).
- GyroidVault will display a dedicated 1-click launch button for your preferred slicer across all model detail pages.
The first time you click an "Open in Slicer" link:
- Your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari) will display a security dialog: "Open Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer / Creality Print? This site is trying to open an application."
- Check the box "Always allow to open links of this type".
- Click Open. Future clicks will launch your slicer instantly.
For large CAD assemblies or high-density organic sculpts (100MB+):
- Your browser hands the streaming URL directly to your desktop slicer.
- Depending on your local network speed, your slicer may take 2–5 seconds to download and parse the geometry before displaying it on the virtual bed.
